This is more than a MCU vs DC thing. This is a blockbuster saturation/fatigue thing.

Apes just won the box office but barely beat Rise's opening weekend

Even Fast 8 had a weak domestic gross compared to 5-7.

Ticket sales are falling across the board domestically.

It's just overseas audiences keep eating up our garbage.

Back in the day blockbusters were few and far between. Now they're every fukking weekend.

It's a bit much to keep up with even as someone who loves movies. Casual fans are just saying

Plus there's a lot of movies releasing back to back eating into each other's grosses during the summer. Wonder Woman having such a strong word of mouth really helped push it to the gross it has now I don't think there's been a movie released this summer with such a strong word of mouth.

This movie hurt me by the two hours I wasted watching it. This Holland man had the potential to be the goat Spider-man but he failed. They need to bring back Tobey on some shattered worlds shyt. The cast was too POC this was the most non-white marvel movie since Blade. The dialogue was terrible. The Iron man scenes were terrible. The DC part could have been in the Empire State Building but maybe not because of 9/11. Why didn't he kill the Vulture? It was too self aware at times. and just many more most importantly it didn't feel like New York in the movie and that's a major part of Spider-man

Yeah... we need more all white movies in hollywood. Especially cherished super hero movies.



White people only. Because white people are the right people.



It's not like they'd make a black Casper.



So why so many minorities in spider man?




This is atrocious. What's next... Aladdin live action movie with an actual middle-eastern looking person?

People are going to the movies less,it's just a fact. The inflated ticket prices make it seem like it's the opposite when it's not true.

I think a major factor is young people just don't go to the movies like that. Older generations that always went to the film's are dying off,and they aren't being replaced 1:1 by young people. It's too expensive.

People keep pretending these films are for the kids and the shyt just isn't true. It's grown ass men watching them. Same as wrestling and gaming. The demographics for all 3 are aging and not slowing down.

Marvel keeps trying to shove high school spider man down our throats when reality is most people want to see an older peter already. We keep seeing the same shyt over and over.

As for dceu,well mcu took until their 6th film until the reached the billion threshold.


Dceu is 4 films in. So if justice League or aquaman don't do it then it may not happen.

And I'm not convinced infinity war is going to do more than the first avengers. It could,but realistically who is going to see it that didn't see the first 2? Or civil war for that matter.

They just came out with a fancier food menu at my theater and they had a pizza and chicken and waffle combo for like $14.99
