Ironman is in this because make no mistake - this movie HAS to make a billy. Nikkas like Batman and Ironman proved the billy can be made and there's no way Spidey isn't the same tier as those nikkas yet none of the five films he been in have done it. Spideys biggest grossing film is Captain America Civil War
This movie had to make a billy with or without Ironman and the last 4 out of 6 films ironman been in have done a billion so their not trying to hedge their bets. If a film with Cap's name on it does the billy there's no way Sony are looking at any thing less than a billy as successful.
Spidey needed that RDJ stimulus.
A Billy is now a guarantee.
Hope they make another 5 of these and put Downey in the next 5 just for you

Who called it a failure? It came in under what people thought. It was a disappointment.
But I'll just say everybody on here thought it would do a billion plus. I'll pull receipts pretty easily.

I actually think this movie could have made more if Spidey wasn't in civil war.
The draw behind this movie was the novelty of finally seeing Spidey in the MCU and interacting with the avengers. If they had reserved that play for the actual solo movie instead of blowing their load early with civil war... there would have been a lot more ppl curious to see the movie. Civil war was already going to be a massive success; it didnt need Spidey.
Because truthfully if you had seen Civil War you already knew what to expect with this.
