And to think as the buildings Peter starts web-slinging from get higher and higher, the story gets darker and darker. :wow:

Please go this route.

What 'Spider-Man's Awful 73% Friday-to-Friday Plummet Means For Sony, Marvel, And Superhero Films

The film was extremely well reviewed with a 93 percent Rotten Tomatoes rating, and well attended, with a $117 million domestic gross, the best 3-day opening for a Spidey flick since Spider-Man 3’s stunning $151 million debut a decade ago.

But things quickly turned sour for the Sony-Marvel co-pro yesterday when the grosses fell off a cliff, tumbling 73.2 percent from the first Friday’s $50.8 million tally to an estimated $13.6 million on the second. That’s one of the worst Friday-to-Friday drops the 16-movie Marvel Cinematic Universe has ever seen—only Avengers: Age of Ultron and Captain America: Civil War fared worse—and it's by far the worst for any of Sony’s 6 Spider-Man movies. Even the heavily front-loaded and relatively poorly reviewed Spider-Man 3 fell by a lesser margin on its second Friday.

Avengers compound
It's not a flop, these months are just loaded and WW is exceeding expectations.

Sony/Marvel might not have counted on Gal Gadot having such great legs, but they must've known Apes/Cars would also eat.
This. As long as super hero movies continue to sell regardless of studio we all win and the genre wins. I'm going to continue to

Spider-man fatigue. That's why I haven't watched it. Doesn't have anything to do with Marvel. BUT If I am Marvel, They better hope like hell he resonates like they are betting he does post Infinity War. especially as going forward he will likely be the star of phase 4

"In the end, Spider-Man: Homecoming was the Steve Jobs of superhero reboots. Like The Incredible Hulk, Marvel made a seemingly more commercial and acclaimed package but still got a relatively similar result." :bryan:

@MartyMcFly My man James Howlett didn't have 61% drop :selena:

Just got back from the movie. Solid, breezy comic book movie that drives home the reason why Marvel does it better than DC: they get the particular reasons why fans love their superheroes.
It's also refreshing to see a comic book where the stakes are pretty low and yet still entertaining. He's a friendly neighborhood Spiderman. No need to make it about saving the world or New York City or even Manhattan again.

8/10

Also going to be a long long time before you see him again. I'll see spider man next year and twice the year after that:feedme:

But I'm sure those claws will keep you warm at night

If anybody thinks a 61% drop is a good thing, they lying. That's pretty much the same drop asm 2 and spider man 3 had, which are seen as the worst films in the franchise.

Asm 1 only had a 44% drop.

Spider man 1 was behind this same time before the weekend and is now ahead same time after.

Sony didn't blow everything up for marginally better results.

This will finish as the 4th best Spidey film domestically.

She doesn't have any friends, according to her earlier in the movie. :russ:

Oh yeah, regarding the Spider-sense debate, I think Feige's excuse was weak but I don't think you can complain about it here when all the Spidey movies before this have moments where it is completely ignored. Just saying, this is nothing new.

Also, if you want to criticize the movie for that, you better stop praising Logan immediately for continuing that bullshyt about how an adamantium bullet can pierce indestructible adamantium coated bone and kill someone with healing powers.:mjlol:
The difference between this and logan,or fox and marvel as it were.

Is that Fox is known to take liberties with the properties. Marvel is supposedly true to comics and constantly gets praised as being so.

When a film comes out and is praised as the first time Spidey is done right and it's the first time it's true to comics, well, then expect things to be called out for not being true.

The truth is Disney has taken just as many liberties as other studios.

You can't overly praise a studio for getting it right while complaining that other studios take liberties while ignoring the changes made by marvel.
