Are you really trying to use the civil war storyline to justify the ironman spamming?

Things have changed. Superheroes' have to register with the government. In the past, superhero's with stand alone movies didn't share the universe with other superhero's.
Iron Man wasn't born in the first Captain America movie. Hawkeye and Black Widow worked for S.H.I.E.L.D so they were going to make cameo's like Coulson did in Iron Man.

And they made it clear that the Avengers only came together when they were "activated" in AOU.

At the end of the day, the Avengers Tower is in New York. He already fought with the Avengers and it was Tony Stark who discovered his identity so why wouldn't he be in this movie? They even referenced civil war footage in the trailer. There are no more stand alone superheroes. That ship sailed 4 years ago.

I'm not 100% sure this movie makes a billion. Iron Man and MCU stimulus aside, this movie looks like it will be covering a lot of the same beats that the previous ones did.

I mean if you're just a casual movie goer and/or not an enthusiast, this is like the same trailer for the same movie for the 6th time in a row. Same look, same colors, Peter Parker 'just getting started' and adjusting to being Spider-Man... only this time with Iron Man. Which may or may not be enough to get people to go.

It's actually quite astonishing that 15 years later and the Spidey franchise really hasn't gained that much ground. Hopefully this could be the true launching pad for a real franchise that delves deeper and deeper into the mythos.

And yea even if this one doesn't make a billi, if it's good enough... the next one definitely will. Especially if they use an A-tier villain.

Should have just used this movie to continue The Civil War plot and have Spider-Man and Iron Man on a mission together which involves a "rogue Avenger" and a Spider-Man villain. fukk were they thinking with this? fukk was the point even bringing Spider-Man in if this shyt aint gonna be MCU/Avengers heavy?

I really don't think he's gonna play a big part. I just think they're going heavy with him for the marketing and putting emphasis on the MCU association.

Since this is Spidey's movie I also expect Iron Man to get himself into some trouble so that Spiderman can bail him out and save the day.

Huh? If you mean always as in since right before Civil War and then during Civil War, yeah they've always had it. Outside of that, Peter has never ever been Tony's protege. The closest thing he had to a mentor when he was younger was Reed Richards
