Breh even before Marvel was bought, from the mid 2000s to the buying Marvel was in a renaissance period and was having its best sales since the 80s. And even from around 2000 the Ultimates line had some amazing stories that helped influence MCU
From what I read it was the reverse breh. Joey came in after they were damn near out of business and he helped revive them and put them back to where they needed to be critically and financially. Disney owns Marvel studios, not marvel comics. So anything related to television and movies, that's Disney. The comics side is a different beast. Disney owns the parent company of marvel entertainment. Joey didn't show up until 2000

Marvel sucks since he came on, breh.
The ultimate line is basically a horrible what if style relaunch and was used to cover up the low quality that was heroes reborn.
Which was brought on by pisspoor Byrne and alternate verse style writing from horrible dc writers being given precedence over the marvel universe
Plus all the sterotypically poor moves marvel had made leading up to it.
To be made even worse by the ultimate's line.
Quesada is horrible and him and Loeb together make reading marvel the equivalent of putting cancer in your eyes and brain.
Marvel has been horrible since the best creators left in the early nineties.
Quesada did not help it, he brought his Indy hack meets garbage dc ideas to marvel and made it intolerable.

He only benefitted because the movies created the gateway draw for marvel.
Past that he has killed marvel as a quality read.
To the point I don't see many kids reading many comics past this boom for comic book movies.
Especially now it has set in that marvel is the avengers domain and everything falls behind that.
He just made it higher up the corporate chart to be eliminated from blame in general but he is the blame.
He has sucked and was never good from early on on ash to now in any capacity.

Quesada wasn't there during the 90's gimmick shyt he was at DC doing Batman at the time. He joined Marvel in 98 starting the Marvel Knights line which was really successful (Kevin Smith's Daredevil, Priest's Black Panther, Jenkins Inhumans) that's why he got promoted.

Only terrible Ultimates shyt was Fantastic four, Ultimatum, n Ultimates 3. Everything else ranged from aight (Ultimate X Men), pretty good (Ultimates 2nd iteration), to fukkin classic shyt (Ultimate Spiderman, 1st iteration Ultimates, n Ultimates 2)
Breh this was before the movies. He pulled them out of freaking bankruptcy in 2000 by creating the ultimate line. That was the only thing selling and the only thing people gave a damn about

I read bought and owned his books.
anytime he was part of a relaunch or when he was penciling ash early on.
As people would always overprocess him, so I would read and have him as a new pull list item.
Everytime it was low quality bullshyt that always felt like a guy who used to much what if to fuel everything he did.
Instead of actual high quality plausibility and writing found in the shooter era.
Before the period where marvel got horrible and alienated their top drawing pencilers in the 90's.
I know exactly when he came on and I bought and own those books.
Plus, his Indy shyt, too.
Past that, I never found him great as a penciler at all.
as he is pretty much funny shaped mark Bagley commercialized marvel all looks the same post 90's large drawing creator style pencils.
Plus, the whole relaunch of marvel knights.
anybody could have written better than the trash that ruined those books like moon knight.
which were launched from the horrific midnight sons crossover, from ghost rider after texiera left.
That damaged all those titles in one fell swoop anyway.
So, anything was an improvement over that.
Including sentimentalism from Kevin smith finally writes comic fan boys like me who campaigned for smith to get a marvel book.
Of which I had to deal with the Debbie downer idea of quesada with Kevin smith and falsely piggy backing off of smith.
Plus visually anyone could take over daredevil and be a superstar.
All because artistically daredevil's bottom line in quality of pencils is so low.
Since frank miller drew the legendary daredevil run to greatness.
Including the fact miller was never great outside of his use of black and we have mike miagnola for use of black, anyway.
So, all the whole piggy back off of Kevin smith shyt I know about too and I was never fooled.
Quesada made marvel into reading for general gateway readers.
who saw a marvel movie and would grab a comic from the iconic comic book basket at white hen pantry.
Or grab a mag while waiting on a train or plane flight.
Past that, his run at marvel has been a slap in the face.
to readers who still gave marvel mad money in their darkest hour.
To the point when the nostalgia for the movies runs its course.
Marvel will be back in the same position it was in but worse. before he took over the helm and be even more lost than they are now.
I would not be caught dead with any Quesada era comic from marvel after the Kevin smith daredevil and even then,...i would sell that shyt.
if it actually was worth something for real.
