I been meaning to ask: does MCU Uncle Ben exist or was he replaced by Tony

I’m sure he exists since obviously we just have aunt may, I mean...we haven’t even seen or really even heard anything about this Peter getting his powers in the first place, if they keep going with these Spider-Man films like they are planning too I’m sure we’ll get some backstory on both over the next couple films.

Yeah. He hasn’t been overtly mentioned but peter referenced him in homecoming and he used his suitcase in this movie. Not overtly mentioning him is just another way to differentiate this movie from what’s come before

I know I'm in the minority, but what is it about Kraven's Last Hunt today people like? Is it just because the villian wins? I was never a fan of that story.
It's dark and takes place at night and in the rain a lot. So it is like a bad ass story man. Plus Spiderman is buried alive. lol
Seriously tho, I really liked it at the time because it was just very different from your avg. Spidey story. But I agree, it would be dumb to do in Kraven's first appearance on screen. He did what he did because of years of frustration of being defeated by Spiderman. Doing it right away it would lose that.

Question about breh. I know he was an FX guy but does he ever become a real threat with bombs, lasers etc or just a weak version of loki with illusions??

Loki and Nolan's Scarecrow had a baby, that's Mysterio.

If you ever took the character for a joke (easy to do), the MCU version willprobably change your perspective on that. Easily one of the best on screen villain adaptations.

Yeah, this would be a perfect place to introduce Kraven or (I know a stretch) even Tombstone.

Very likely Chameleon first (Demetri), Pete slaps his Kufi, clears his name and that will prompt his Brother (Kraven) to want to run that fade.

Now the issue is whether Kraven is available, I know there were rumors about Sony putting out a solo film.

It’s a character study of kraven. It really gets deep into his psyche and what drives him and how Spider-Man essentially made him crazy.

On the flip side, it also gets to Peters motivation. While it used to be Ben or the idea of letting anyone down in the abstract, it’s now Mary Jane. Her love, protecting her, and being there for her is what makes him put on a costume every night. It’s his way of making sure she can get home safely.

So you combine those elements with the trippy visuals and the ending, you got a great story. And it helped redefine Kraven, who’d become a bit of a joke.

Kids were bored so i took em to see this earlier today.

Not bad. Works good as a teen comedy and I like Mysterio glad he was used properly for the most part. Wasn't a fan much of the action, which for me was the weakest part of the movie aside from Mysterio vs Spidey scenes before the climax.

Overall pretty decent, kids liked it so money well spent. :francis:

Just saw this, honestly don't know how I feel about it, on one hand thought this was fukking amazing probably a top 5 MCU movie, on the other hand there was alot of questions/suspending of disbelief in it :jbhmm:

Also not a fan AT ALL of the post scene credits and not really liking Russo's explanation on it

The boom period for superhero movies was right after Batman Begins. TDK and the first Iron Man came the same year... that’s when it became cool for the causal critic to check these movies out

Spider-Man 3 may be the most disliked but it did those #s based off the hype of the first 2 films and the inclusion of Venom

What’s more interesting to me is why Marvel had to sell all their characters’ movie rights to begin with.

It’s simple. In the 1990s marvel was bankrupt and almost out of business until they decided to sell some of their more popular properties to movie studios to make movies. Hence why X men, Spider-Man, and the Fantastic Four were the first to get movies. X men did well and then Spider-Man blew out the box office at the time. With those checks they got themselves out of debt and got inspired to make their own movies. To start Marvel studios they had to take a revolving loan I believe.
