Just like she's supposed to be.

Yeah, but there's normal awkward, and just cringey awkward. They really played up the cringe. Eventually the cringe is supposed to fall away. If you're telling the story, you want to show why these two people like each other. Get into the dynamics of how they relate to each other, how they talk once they find their groove. Even teenagers with no game eventually find a flow. There was nothing natural about the way they interacted, to the point where you wondered why they liked each other. They never really showed a real rapport. I dunno. I used to work around teens and this just didn't ring true for me. It just wasn't fun to watch those two bumble around each other for two hours with no real growth in terms of rapport. I really hated their scenes.

On a side note, I'm not one to PAWG, but can we discuss how much finer Marisa Tomei has gotten since her days on A Different World?
She must have some of those Regina King/Nia Long genes, because she's aging so damn gracefully.
:banderas:

Don't get it twisted, I'm not abandoning my melanated ladies. I'm just giving the devil her due (no pun intended).

It was really cool seeing JK Simmons in the mid-credits scene, but the reveal of Spidey's true identity wasn't that big of a deal for me.
Since the Raimi movies, Spiderman has been removing his mask (I know, I know it's hard to show Pete's emotions while he's wearing his mask) any time he fights a villain.
A quick count:
Harry and Norman Osbourne,
Doc Ock,
Both MJs,
Gwen Stacy
Aunt May,
Eddie Brock,
Electro,
Miles Morales,
Mysterio,
The Lizard,
The Vulture,
An entire NYC bus (or subway car, I can't remember) full of passengers,
Anybody who was watching (and probably recording) Spiderman fight the Sandman and Venom,
And some other random people I may have forgotten,
Have all seen Spiderman unmasked.
There's no way that none of them spilled the beans before this movie.
My only gripe with the MCU Spiderman movies is that they insist on showing Peter's face when it defeats the whole purpose of him wearing a mask in the first place. Even with a mask, MCU Spidey can emote, a lá Deadpool. I wish they'd find a way to keep Pete's mask on.

For me it wasn't the reveal of his identity as much as it was him being outed and accused of murdering Mysterio. I can only imagine what they have cooked up for Peter in Phases 4, 5, & 6. Definitely the "Parker curse" in full effect, he never gets a happy ending.

Also they are assembling a nice roster for the Sinister 6 between Vulture, Scorpion, Mysterio, and Shocker so far. For all we know since Mysterio & Vulture have axes to grind vs Stark this could all be part of a larger plan

I thought it was great, although it still doesn't beat Spider-Man 2 for me. The mid-movie Mysterio scene though is probably the best live-action Spider-Man scene I have seen since the Gwen Stacy death in ASM2 (the only good scene in that otherwise gutter trash movie), and the movie really, really picks up after that.

Also, the return of a certain someone was the ultimate theater moment. Just like how the Bond movies always kept the same M and Moneypenny across different Bonds, more franchises should stay open about keeping actors around who do not need to be replaced in reboots/remakes.

I LIVE IN A CARDBOARD BOX!
It wasn't the best, but it wasn't the worst Spidey film.

1. Spider-verse
2. Spider-man 2
3. Homecoming
4. Far From Home
5. Spiderman
The rest? :unimpressed:

This further confirms my theory that if you were on an airplane or a boat during the snap then .

Mysterio was :whoo:. I've been waiting to see him on the big screen and Jake pulled it off with ease. I like how he went from this real homely type of person to :the con artist that he really is when Peter left the bar. He had Ralphie from A Christmas Story as his sidekick too. :pachaha:

Zombie @Ironman . :damn:

I'm glad MJ and Betty Brant got some time to shine. :obama:

The return of J. Jonah Jameson! :blessed:

Not sure what to think about Spidey being wanted for murder now. :patrice:
