Just got out of it. For every joke that works there's one that's just 'ugh' while the plot is somehow basic as hell and yet still manages to make zero sense at almost every turn. It's decent enough for what it is though (a kids movie) and kids will definitely love it. Turn off your brain at the door and there's enough to be entertained by here.
PG 13 rating hurts it. Don’t confuse horror fans. Thru won’t come out. Before they announced that rating, that was a big deal. Then they announced it and now it’s not. Same thing happened with black Christmas.

this is a dope family flick. Smiled the whole way through. Not all of the jokes land but the ones that do really do. It’s got a lot of heart and has Sonics personality down to a tee. Definitely one to take the kids too if you can
Also for anyone wondering why they set the movie on earth and why a lot of stuff isn’t mentioned like möbius and sally etc., the writers only had permission to use stuff from sonic 1 I believe. One of them host a podcast and he mentioned it a few episodes back. They had one game to work with and had to go from there
