The money was Franklin’s way “out” and into a legitimate life as a black millionaire. Metaphorically speaking it also was a representation of the “Payoff” for all the nefarious things he’d done over the years. Knowingly distributing an addictive drug to his community. Killing Kevin. Killing Rob. Killing Mel’s father. Turning a blind eye to Teddy killing his father. Jerome’s death.

ALL of it was for the money. Without that money it all would’ve been for nothing and Franklin wouldn’t have been able to live with himself.

Boy, I’m glad he’s able to live with himself killing all those people who were close to him for money

Teddy's chest . I would have been placing the phone call, before Franklin broke out the hot oil. Franklin was right, he couldn't have left him 5 or 10 million and took the rest to fight the good fight for America . Teddy was the plug, but he needed Franklin to move the product.

With 1 episode left, I'm curious to see how things wrap up. Some great acting by Damson in this episode. Will be curious to see how his career develops from here, I saw he got cast in that Brad Pitt movie

That was such a dumb episode with an even dumber ending. Made no sense whatsoever. She waited until he was literally on the phone with the bank to ask him. The ONLY reason to do that was to get that BS dramatic scene and to prevent her son from getting his money (which was a stupid plan in its own right).
