Binged this season up until the 8th episode the last two days and man! Especially the last 3-4 episodes. One of my oldest memories was my mom wielding a knife at a crackhead who broke into our apartment one night in the late 80s. The crack epidemic was hardcore! Still remember my uncle pointing to crackheads and telling me how so and so was a star athlete in school, someone working a square job, a chick who could have been a supermodel, etc but now on crack. I remember a girl I knew from high school who got fukked up on drugs. She was attractive but got caught up and fell all the way off. Last I heard she got clean and was doing ok but shame what happened.

I never felt Andre was a c00n. I felt he was trying to do his best for the community and his daughter but still got his wake up call when he got pulled over, the comments the chief made when they were planning the raids, and when his partner said he was "one of the good ones." :mjpls:

Also y'all have to remember Franklin and Melody grew up together. He's not going to just drop her because she's a junkie. I think her dad getting killed is going to make her snap out of it. She's not all the way gone since she didn't want to sell her mama's necklace and didn't want to rob that old lady like Wanda suggested. She's probably going to feel guilty that Andre "killed himself" because of all the events that have been happening(getting suspended from the force, Melody becoming a fiend, etc). In fact that's probably what the narrative is going to be with the police but Andre's partner knows what the deal is. You just know he's going for blood now. :mjpls:

I can't front I thought Wanda and Melody were going to end up doing some lesbian shyt when they were high and at the the skating rink. :mjlol::mjlit:

franklin did that so you wouldn't have to go through that

Andre is way out of his league trying to fukk with franklin. He's destroyed his own life and I think he might do something stupid and get killed/locked up by the end of the season.

They all still think he's the same pup, but he's a straight wolf now.

I wonder when Lucia will turn back up. It'll be nice to see her boss up again without that evil little dea bish there to stifle her.

Yea...Andre just got an old face. The actor was born in 1987. Franklin in real life was born in 1991. I was dead when I rewatched Get Out and saw him running zig zags :dead:

I was born in 1983 and the dude looks older than me! :russ: Also the actor is only 11 years older than the actress that plays his daughter! :dead:

I'm just realizing by this episode Manboy low key might be the smartest dude im the room. He is clearly biding his time to watch Franklin go down.

They really caught the feeling of what crack did to the Black community. I was around 13-14 when the epidemic hit. It was like wildfire. Seeing Mel descent into crackhead status was crazy.

Franklin was stupid for shooting Andre. He has no idea the repercussions this will cause.

Also the kid that plays Franklin. He's got next. His ability to say something without speaking is incredible. Like when Mel punched him in the nuts it looked more like his heart broke.

You don’t need to be an LA head to know all that didn’t really get in full gear until like 86 87
Were hightops that popular on the west coast?

It seems in pictures and movies of the day that most brehs had short fades or curls, braids.

I always thought the high tops was more of a east coast, new york thing.
