Bodie's death didn't have emotional aspect?

Wallace?

D'Angelo?

shyt, even Prop Joe's tragic demise?

Not to mention the kids with Randy and Dukie's outcomes.

You buggin'.

Nah,for one thing the acting was nothing to right home about. That ol fake ass wanna be Scarface scenario in Bodys death was supposed to make me emotional:beli:? Look at the acting here in comparison to Snowfall

You know Snowfall would have had better cinematography, fitting music as the backdrop:wow:
More than anything though,no I wasn't emotional because we only see these dudes as drug dealers who ain't shyt, who did plenty of dirt to other people before they got popped. Snowfall does a much better job of making the characters likeable before we start seeing them do horrible shyt to people. Now we with them right or wrong, wrong or right:mjcry:. Theres a reason Wallace was probably the most emotional death, because you could pretty much see he was a good kid. Can't say that about anybody else on the show. Plus like I said, overall the acting just ain't messing with Snowfall imo.

After watching the second time I have a better understanding of what they were trying to do with "Other Lives" angle. I still wish we would gotten more about the immediate response to Franklin getting shot, what happened to his crew and his money while he was in a coma and of course more about Mel. But at the same time I wouldn't be surprised if they get into those things in season 4... Now I just hate having to wait so long, and wonder how things will be without any John Singleton involvement at all
I really hope we don't get another Boondocks situation :francis:

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
Yes...Every dope fiend damn near used to be somebody or was going to be somebody....Teachers, medical professionals, lawyers, Pastors, athletes name it even some of the J's would really make you think...Honestly some have even gotten clean and got back on their feet over time. A lot of the female J's used to be pretty back before they got caught up matter fact that's what turned them on to the lifestyle usually on the party scene inject this went to snort this went to smoke that...
it was like weed back then..... well..... back then coke wasn't even seen as bad... so they just figured it was some form of coke and they could do a little and be straight

Funny story... My stepdad, who's about 60 now, director of such and such at a top 100 company.... Told me about 3 years ago about how he had to quit smoking crack in the 80s. CRACK!!!!! But he said the same thing.. It was new.. Everyone was already sniffing a little in college. Crack hit and nikkas just figured it was all good. One hit and you HOOKED. He kicked it early though after seeing it run through Florida where he's from and being smart enough to know he was gonna end up the same way

shyt really was no issue at first though. But the same could be said about all drugs. Heroin was over the counter. Liquor was cool even when preggo. Coke was in Coke. Cigs was "healthy" till about the 60s... We really don't know shyt until people start dying. Look at this e cig mess. People gonna look at us like we retarded in 30 years

I won’t go back thru the last pages of the thread but that episode was crack. A nice prequel and then seeing everything advance was a great way to end things. Crack has almost completely destroyed everything and just seeing Jerome’s facial expression, you see that there’s no turning back.

The whole family plugged up, no one died (yet) and the epidemic is in full swing. Can’t wait for season 4.

I love the nod to John in this episode. It was a true tribute.

It ain’t a comedy man. Ain’t shyt bout the subject funny.

Did I say it was a comedy you fukking goofball?

All the great dramas have moments of levity. Since this show started there has been almost no positive interaction between characters that wasn't met with some dramatic bullshyt moments later. The best shows balance the need to pour on the drama and also showing different sides to characters.
