Yeah, but she's an all-time great. All-time greats are supposed to get attention even when they're in the twilight. Venus is treated like any old "used to be good" player now as far as I can tell.

And she was relevant way past the early 2000s. She took Wimbleton in 2005, 2007, and 2008, and kept winning Grand Slams and Olympic golds in doubles up to 2012. Even now she's still winning titles and making the quarterfinals of Grand Slams, and she's still ranked in the top-10, so it's not she's Kobe dragging around the court on fumes.
