SmackDown does lowest rating since brand split

As was the case with WWE Raw the night before, SmackDown Live's ratings were way down on Tuesday night as the show did just 2.454 million viewers, down 13% from the previous week.

The show's ratings seem to be tied more to what Raw did the previous night as opposed to outside competition. Once again, the show's audience was between 80-85% of the Raw's audience the night before.

SmackDown is usually 2nd or 3rd in total viewers for the night on cable but fell to 7th this week. In the 18-49 demo, the show did a 0.79 rating, 3rd for the night on cable.

For those expecting the number to rise when football season started, this was not a good sign. Also worth noting is that Tuesday is a strong night for network television with top rated network shows such as NCIS, NCIS: New Orleans and The Voice all scheduled to air opposite SmackDown.

WWE SmackDown Viewership Hits New Low Since Moving To Tuesday Nights - WrestlingInc.com

Tuesday night's live WWE SmackDown, featuring a main event segment with AJ Stylesand WWE Champion Dean Ambrose facing off, drew 2.454 million viewers. This is down 13.4% from last week's show, which drew 2.835 million viewers and a new low since going live on Tuesdays in July.

SmackDown was #7 for the night in viewership, behind The Have & Have Nots, Harley & The Davidson, Queen Sugar, The Kelly File, The O'Reilly Factor, Special Report with Brett Baier, and #3 in the 18-49 demographic, behind The Have & Have Nots, and Harley & The Davidson.

I don't think Smackdown shares audience with the NCIS's, possibly The Voice.

Lack star power that's the E's fault not sure why killed off Miz and Bryan when it had social media going nuts should've kept it going especially with Cena gone.

Brooklyn told us weeks ago that the servers would be improved in time for the start of the NFL season.

In one PPV we had:

Three "feel good" moments (I consider the AJ one too, just look at the reaction) in matches that made the crowd be engaged throughout the show. Something WWE hasn't been able to do in a LONG ASS TIME for whatever reason.

Made a compelling 7 weeks storyline with a talented career jobber that not only made him legit one of the most over wrestlers on the roster, it also made people CARE about the result of a match. Not stealing the show, getting revenge, "this is bigger than a title", just a simple "I need to win this fukking match" and it fukking worked :wow:

A REAL heel doing heel things and getting heat after giving one of the best performances of his career after a money promo and an interesting angle.

I believe in Ryan Ward and this roster brehs, and it's only gonna get better :blessed:

Too bad Bray Wyatt can't join the party. No matter who's in charge that breh can't catch a booking break :dead: :dead:

I posted it in the 1.88 thread but we won Tuesday nights cable battle.

And contrary to us following the RAW ratings downfall, our ratings shot up from last week. Our overage viewers didn't quite beat theirs, they won by only 50,000 viewers. But we at least demolished their third hour. Let James Ellisworth outdraw Roman Reigns and KO brehs

SmackDown Ratings Report (9/13/16): Neck And Neck With RAW

The SmackDown ratings are in for this week, and the news is good. For the first time since the brand split back in July, WWE’s two weekly cable shows are basically tied as far as average viewers go. This week’s episode of SmackDown Live drew 2.658 million viewers. That is up from last week where the blue brand drew 2.454 million. The show drew a 1.86 cable rating.

But, the big news is that SmackDown and RAW had roughly the same average audience this week. RAW averaged 2.69 million this week with a 1.88 cable rating, so WWE’s flagship show and Tuesday night’s show were neck and neck.
