just beat the game
I haven't. I didn't even play last night being so busy. I'm stretchin this out till Ungoated 4
Played a bit. It's cool.
But it's the same old ratchet and clank. Game play really hasn't evolved since ps2.
I don't know. I enjoy these games but as someone who's played literally every single one,even the spin offs and sometimes multiple times I'm disappointed a bit.
It's just the same shyt.
wish they took this opportunity to revamp the franchise. Oh well. Think I'm just burnt out on the franchise.

Disagree. I feel like the gameplay is pretty much still fun for this type of game and the new presentation makes it feel nostalgic and new at the same time. I've played pretty much every one except the last one on PS3(I think Into the Nexus?) and I'm nowhere near burned out.Played a bit. It's cool.

It's been years since I played a new Ratchet and this one scratched my itch

I didn't say the gameplay evolved because imo the gameplay for this series is pretty much at it's peak. What you're advocating for is just a change because you yourself are probably tired of it. I don't feel like there's anything wrong with the gameplay to warrant it needing some sort of "evolution" . It's like Super Mario, yeah you can add some new things here and there but ultimately it's the "same shyt" depending on how you choose to look at it.

The controls are much better on here. You couldn't aim in the older Ratchet and Clank game.
Clank focused gameplay wasn't in the original.
More than half of the weapons weren't in the game(some new some from the future series)
New locations etc.
Weapon upgrade system which wasn't in the first one.
It's much more than " the same game with prettier graphics." as you call it. Either way, re-imagining as they call it, it's still Ratchet and Clank with some new elements and changes while being familiar to long time fans. It's Ratchet and Clank and it's by general consensus damn good.
If they were to do this to say another platformer like Crash Bandicoot or Jak and Daxter I'd be all over it.

All that stuff you're saying is surface deep and been addressed already by other games in the series.
And obviously it does need to evolve considerin the series has continued to sell less and less and is now priced as a budget game.
I'm just saying this was an opportunity for them to change the series,which is stale,and bring into something new.
It's the equivalent if Capcom just continued making tank control resident evil games like nemesis forever while ignoring the series popularity falling.
It's still a cool game,but it's not the evolution the series desperately needed.

Yeah but this isn't the other games. It's a "reimagining" as they call it. It's like if Naughty Dog were to redo Uncharted 1 but with elements from TLOU and the latter Uncharteds. It can be said to be addressed already but it wasn't for UC1.
Where is this info coming from that it's selling less and less? Also you don't think a reimagining of the first game being priced at $40 is a good thing?? I mean, we've payed $60 for REMASTERS where it's LITERALLY just a upres and some tweaks.

Nah. This is conjecture. RE series has been declining in popularity I'd guess to crappy games coming out since RE5.

I'm not gonna change your mind nor are you going to with mines so it's w/e. The narrative lately which is to nitpick games and be overly cynic in order to look credible and objective is corny as hell. Peace.
It's also corny to relentlessly cape for games at launch because you're in full blown fan boy/hype boy mode then reveal your true feelings a few months down the line. Which you've done for about 20 games this Gen.

This game isn't moving units like that, you're kidding yourself. Series is stuck in the PS2 days. Same as God of war. And if god of war 4 is the same gameplay I'm gonna call that out too.
Insomniac seems bored with this series.

Let's see, out of all the exclusives I've played and caped for and actually liked this gen:
Bloodborne Had no problems with it and still don't.
Until Dawn-Loved it and that was that.
LBP3- I bought it, though it was okay but felt it didn't do much new and it was a waste opportunity.
The Order- I said it was not that bad but it wasn't worth buying.
Infamous Second Son- I didn't really say much about it. I thought it was a solid launch window game. The DLC was good too.
Driveclub- Disappointing launch with a rocky start up but it got better and it's one of my fave racers this gen.
Knack- Was hype for it, played it and immediately threw it to the bushes
KZ:SF Right after playing it I said it was boring as hell and that was right after it launched.
If I'm missing anything, please list these 20 exclusives I've caped for at launch and then revealed my feelings for down the line?? Because I only vividly remember feeling let down by MGSV pretty much. This is why I'm starting to dislike posting on forums. Y'all take one example, blow it up outta proportion and try to make points around a false narrative. People can't change their minds?? It's like if someone were to tell someone about a girl they're with one month into a relationship, it'd be positive. Months/years later that person may have a different opinion and feel different.

No, the core gameplay hasn't changed but that was to be expected. Its very rare for a a game in a series to be COMPLETELY different from its predecessors, ESPECIALLY when it doesn't have much it needed to improve on. I want to point out that I'm playing the game on hard and to me, the game is incredibly fun. I'm not sure how the gameplay could have evolved to make this game any better. That's a weak argument and can be used for almost any game that's part of a series. Halo 5 is trash, it has better graphics but in the end you're still just driving a Jeep from point A and point B, hoping out, killing a few enemies and moving to the next location. Better yet, you can make the same argument for most games that are in the same genre. Bloodborne is trash, aside from a harder difficulty and slower pacing, it does little to evolve past Devil May Cry. As far as it being a $40 game. They release one for one ports for $60 all the time. This game is easily worth $60 so releasing at $40 is a plus to me instead of a negative. Its OK to dislike this game, but if you're gripe is that it's still a traditional ratchet and clank game then the one that lost was you for expecting it to be something else. It is, at the end of the day, a game in a series of games.
