We are about to celebrate our 9 year anniversary this fall, we did long distance for 4 years before and I enjoyed it. I'm not moving for a temporary gig that has an expiration date, I have a good paying career here (more than him) and I have to take care of his fam here. He wants me to visit monthly though, and I need ideas for fun things to do up there besides driving to DC. The beach looks :scusthov:

I appreciate the response. I feel like VA beach is overpriced too, and I read about the traffic. His friends told him that Norfolk (where the job is) crime rates are too high and he is worried about his car being broken into so he is looking in other areas. There's gotta be a better option he can stay within Norfolk, right?

yo please tell him to not even think of staying in Norfolk:why:
my homeboy had an apt there and they broke into it 3 times

the 3rd time they even took his family portraits off the wall:dead:

I think Chesapeake is the best area- it is not that far away and you dont have to deal with the tunnel--- no crime- decent mall

Hampton is cool too but you have to cross the tunnel and the traffic at time is:why:

VA Beach has some crime- alot of the gangs go there to do initiations(shooting out car windshields, slashing tires) but the traffic man:beli: shyt is not worth it

I had a huge 3bdr 2bathroom apt in Chesapeake for $1375

:ehh: hope it works out.

It wasn't the typo that I was talking about, it was the ridiculousness that NO long distance relationship can be successful. You can stand by whatever you want, but I'm still going to need you to have a seat thinking that.

I was being a bit hyperbolic, but overall LDR are rarely successful. It all depends on the persons involved like @Rusty Kuntz said.

I think you mean LDR.
LDR requires a certain level of trust and good communication skills, which many fresh relationships may not have developed well yet. If we don't last during this period, then we don't last. Might as well find out now and not when I'm married with kids and stuck with him. I'm not one to force something if it is not organically happening with sincere effort.

I'm about to go to town redecorating the apartment all feminine and signing up for hobby classes leddehs!

lol yeah i'm at work multi-tasking like a mutha...

Ur right about trust and communication is key, and if its temporary then it shouldn't be a problem. I just personally know a lot of folks who have had LDR and damn near all of them have failed. I even have been burned myself. Its a real commitment tester.

Threatened to blow their asses away; I guess they weren't willing to take that risk (my brother, uncle and cousin were all there; all of them were in the military at that time).

I would have let him get into the house and beat him till he was soft like porridge.

I had the most random dream about @illadope and @Phoenix_Knightly23. I dreamt that they were on a Love and Hip Hop type reality show. Phoenix was dressed like Joselyn from LHHA. They got into a fight at the studio because Illadope helped his baby mama deliver their baby and Phoenix got mad. She got escorted out and cried in the car. I won't lie, it was an entertaining dream.

So random.
