Kali

Divine Mother; Goddess of Destruction; Destroyer of Evil
Her name literally means "The Black One" because she was here before the creation of light and time.

Kailani means "Sea and Sky"
In short, to remind me to be like wind and water. Strong but flexible, to let things go and go with the flow.

Why didn't I choose a black or Kemetic name? My name is Kaila. These two names/words have been repeated throughout my life. I identify with the meanings behind the word.

Kali also reminds me of one of my biggest idols Josephine Baker:
