What is also weird is that the voices in people's heads appear to be "real", but half of the things the voices tell people to do are bad.
What I'm trying to figure out is if the various voices people are hearing are the same. The version of Campion in Mother's head agreed that he was a virus in her system. But the child Campion also heard a voice that seems to want him to kill himself. And of course "Ragnar" hears a voice saying that if he doesn't kill Mother he'll be a king.

Most of Ridley’s movies are always heavy with religious allegory but I’ve honestly never been able to figure out if he’s pro, against, indifferent or what. At the very least I have to think he is fascinated by religion, but I haven’t seen anything in his movies to make me think he’s pro religion.

I think like a lot of dudes/directors of his generation he *wants* to believe in something greater but he’s still wrestling a bit. He’s been leaning more into this philosophy stuff with age though for sure. His brother killing himself probably didn’t help. Tony Scott was a legend too.
