I still think this game deserves goty. It's truly ahead of its time and a master in class in almost every area of the game.
The biggest downfall gameplay wise was there just being too many mini games. It's a odd thing to complain about but it really kinda just became too much at one point.
After I stepped away for like 2 months and got back in i could enjoy it properly again.
Also a PC release would have really really really helped the hype and probably overall sales and appreciation for the game.
Seeing the max settings of this game on PC would have really been game changing as far as hype

I really need to get back into this. Lost interest having to chase down giant chickens when the world opened up, but everybody is saying this is GOTY so I'm guessing it gets lit further into the game.
In the next game of they keep the mini games, they should give you bonuses for perks for completing them, but also the option to skip some of the story required ones.
So if you choose to skip, you don't get bonus gold or exp/ap or an item, or a speed boost in the over world, but if you don't you'd get somethings like that. Nothing essential to the game but nice QOL perks.

Kinda crazy to think I spent 130+ hours on this game and it’s one of the only games outside of fromsoft games where I can see myself doing a new game plus

I think it took me around 157 hours to complete and I didn't even platinum the gameIt's gonna take me forever to beat this game. I've just unlocked everything on the grasslands and now im doing Chadley's challenges. I'm still on Chapter 2
Can't wait go back to play FF7 Rebirth on PS5 Pro. I'm still onchapter 5 since released day
