The ages were appropriate because part of it was about adolescence and kind of learning about life and death and all that stuff. It was like an SE version of a coming of age story/stand by me

I played it when it originally dropped, and again as an adult. I played AND finished the game. It’s not the only final fantasy that plays for keeps, and that doesn’t make it any less kiddie. But you’re always welcome to your tiny, baby, monkey-tailed protagonist, and his lovable band of sidekicks.

If having a monkey tail is the barometer for kiddie than you’re in the wrong genre of games altogether.

the checkpoint system makes no sense. If you lose a battle DO NOT load from last check point, the game has a checkpoint every couple of hours or some shyt.

Just manually load up your last auto save instead, which still might be behind. Best advice is save often

I save scum in everything I play, so I’ve haven’t had any problems
