Good first episode to me with the potential to get even better over time. I think this is a show that will have a major cult following cause of the time period they are repping. Cause we know many still believe the 90's were the finest and so far they have gotten it right at least with the clothing we wore back then.

I like this but I will be so glad when Black media involving hiphop grows a pair and acknowledges the late 90s.

It's forever 1985-1996. Like this shyt just stopped after Pac (and Big) died.
But are many of the people who were active then in positions to push that era yet?

As someone who was in high school in the early 90s. I think they did a decent job of with nailing the look. They stylized some things but to be fair most of these shows do so I'm not going to knock off too many points.

Overall I think the show is well acted and I'm going to accept the show as more of an alternate universe because I remember specifically during Power that Ghost and Kanan had known each other since they were high school age.

Joey Badass is really making a name for himself as an actor. Might be my fav character right now.
The best capture of that era ever done was Ava Duvernays Central 5 series

yeah I was telling my wife that. Kanan should’ve been a menace by this age. They should’ve done like City of God where you see how Lil Ze was a bad kid and turned into a demon by high school. :demonic:
Yup. This is an era where lil fukking kids 9 years old were selling crack out tennis balls and shyt in the park

Those that go the street route even today by 14 already have gang affiliation, abundance of school suspensions and transfers, arrests all that

So yeah it’s very off brand for a sociopathic super gangsta like Kanan to have been a 14 year old sheltered school nerd just jumping into that lifestyle.
