Carrie dying and Zeke finding the body is just going to make Whitman look even more into the Tejada family than he already has.
Even Ghost and eventually Tariq (especially in this episode) realized that there are ways to get rid of people without having to kill them. If they all had enough sense, then they would realize that killing Everett and/or Carrie would only make things worse and instead have paid them off to leave. You can tell that it's a family chalked full of amateurs.
