1st rule of music. Rock the crowd. There is no comfort zone on the stage. Could be 30 people or 30,000 still gotta rock.

Never blame the crowd. You don't do that. As a professional musician you should be able to go worldwide and rock out.

I been listening to Outkast since 92, Parental Advisory too for those who remember the early Dungeon fam shyt.

They sold alot of records off "Hey yah" and I guess they thought those fickle Walmart audiences who bought the album were real fans. Big Boi's solo sales will tell you they were not.

They went there feeling like they were the biggest group in the world and everybody knows their stuff, it's Outkast. Nah and this show was a rude awakening. It's a festival. People want familiarity and loud noises.

Can't blame a crowd without blaming yourself first. Wu, Snoop and Dre and now Nas rocked out there.....No excuses. Look within.
Have you been to Coachella? The only legitimate comparisons can be made are Kanye and Jay. Both who have released music to go down well specifically at large venues.

To OutKast.

Snoop/Dre isn't a legit comparison because it's in their home state. Snoop has begun headlining a few more festivals tbf.

But only Jay & Kanye regularly headline festivals outside their states and the States. OutKast are the other to have had a number of headline festival runs in hip-hop..

Difference between someone like Em, Snoop, Nas, Jay etc. and Outkast is that these kids know who they are. Those guys have been dropping albums over the past 10 years. These kids have attention spans of ants, if you aren't consistently in their face then you lose them. Outkast hasn't done shyt for 10 years, no albums, no shows, nothing. They don't know who they are, and they real fans aren't buying no damn coachella tickets.

this might have been true 20 years ago but with technology all people need is a free spotify account to listen to all of Outkast catalog in a day

also the real fans vs fake fans thing is a joke. Coachella has plenty of people who are 25+ in attendance and i am sure were alive when outkast was releasing music, and i am sure those people consider themselves fans. Its not like coachella forced people to see outkast....there were 4 other acts performing when Outkast was.

Nas performed no new music...all stuff that was 10/15+ years old and had no problem rocking the crowd for his set

hopefully Kast is better weekend 2...shake the rust off

Nas is my favorite rapper and Illmatic is one of my favorite albums but it's been put on this pedestal and became almost a myth, the greek god, pussalya. Illmatic has been shoved down everyone's throat as the greatest rap album of all time to the point where people feel obligated to listen......

As great as Outkast's first 3 albums were (Southernplayalistic, Atliens, Aquemini) only fans who grew up on them recognize their greatness.

What person who knows of Nas doesn't know Illmatic. That's the reason they know him, as great as Outkast's discography is, you can't point out one of those albums and say that it's been held to the same pedestal as Illmatic. They know that album just like anyone else.

You guys cant blame the crowd. you see Guys like busta rhymes, snoop, slick rick and dougie fresh rockin any crowd all the time regardless of whether they know there catalogue. That what true performers do and what kast used to do.

I grew up on kast and seen them perform 2 times in past... the cochella performance was not up to par. Dre seemed like he didnt wanna be there during his set just walking in circles and truth be told big boi saved the whole show with his energy. Future had no business being there especially with the songs he performed.

I just now watched the entire concert. 3 stacks was probably just willing to do that cuz there's a massive check attached to these shows. big boi is always touring, so I'm sure he liked getting the bread, he'd still be doing shows regardless if 3 stacks was willing to perform as outkast.
