He was a good casting choice, but they gave him so little as a character to work with. Hopefully we get that here.
Clones was a total disaster and honestly nothing was good except the fight choreography in the arena and the score John Williams composed. The Yoda fight was bad because it contradicts the entire reason George made him so small in the first place, which is to stress that the force is something much deeper than the physical. Yoda fighting with a lightsaber takes that concept and throws it in the dumpster to borrow a phrase from the Plinkett review, which does a great job of breaking all this down. Imagine what those 3 movies could’ve been if George had people checking his bad ideas
. Imagine if maul got more than 2-3 lines of dialogue and got an actual character. The pod race was cool too

I just don’t understand why they keep focusing on the same time period. Did we really need Obi Wan? I know Ewan was great in the role , but why not let that time period breath a little, especially after Solo and Rogue one.? Mandalorians period is better because we can see the lawlessness and hopefully some seeds being planted of The First Order. I feel like Old republic or the birth of Jedi/ Sith would be better . Or even 30-40 years in the future(after this trilogy) where Luke, Leia , Han etc are for real legends.
