Been on a massive Star Wars binge so I finally got around to watching this. I'm gonna be honest, this show completely falls apart in the last two episodes. :patrice:

Reva was a cool villain at first, but once they get into her origin in episode five she just becomes completely stupid. I understand that she didn't want Obi-Wan's help because he wasn't there the night of Order 66, but you would think she'd try to work with him simply because their goals were aligned in taking down Vader, and then they could fight each other when it was over.

Obviously Vader was many steps ahead of Reva, and Reva was not nearly as smart as she thought she was, but the first four episodes portray her as this competent villain who will rise up the ranks at all costs, and then as soon as we get into her origin she turns into an idiot and an emotional wreck. Did she really think she was gonna take out Darth Vader all by herself? At least she could have had some sleeper agents in on it that turned out to be working for Vader the whole time. I would have bought that over whatever the fukk her actual plan was.

And obviously, we know why Obi-Wan didn't just kill Darth Vader in the end for canon reasons, but in the context of the last episode it makes zero sense. I've seen theories and discussions about it that Obi-Wan was just too emotional and couldn't bring himself to do it, but that's grade A horseshyt. For one thing, the dialogue is written in a way that Obi-Wan could let go of his emotions and do what needed to be done:

Vader: "You didn't kill Anakin... I did. :demonic:"
Obi-Wan: "Then my friend really is dead. :wow:"

Why have this dialogue here if Obi-Wan wasn't even going to try to deliver a fatal blow? Anakin's dead--Vader is something entirely different, so there should be no emotional connection to stop you from killing him.

It made sense in Revenge of the Sith why Obi-Wan didn't finish off Anakin, but in this show they essentially just rehashed that fight, but in a worse, more stupid way. Obi-Wan had a very good reason to think Anakin was gonna die there, but here Darth Vader was still standing. Like you know Vader is coming back and he's gonna kill way more people right? Including the people in that underground network that you just left behind to fight Vader so that they could have more time to get to safety. :wtf:

Obi-Wan can't finish the job for shyt. Failed to kill Darth Maul and failed to kill Anakin/Vader twice. :scust:

I understand that she didn't want Obi-Wan's help because he wasn't there the night of Order 66,

he was there on the night

and he set up a beacon to tell other jedi to stay away.

all of the younglings didn't die immediately

e.g. grogu

he also messed up with his padawan anakin

So basically, Vader couldn’t do anything with Obi Wan until he checked himself into Larry Holmes Gardens. He basically had to spend the next decade knowing if Obi wanted to crawl out that cave and get the smoke, the smoke was gon get got.

I love it. I absolutely love it.
Interesting choice of words since Anakin's flesh was left up in smoke.

first 4 eps was mid to sligtly above average.

Last two eps was:ohlawd::ohlawd::ohlawd:

and I give props to this, Rogue One and the Vader/Doctor Aphra comics. Vader seems like an implied threat in the OG series. Even me watching as a kid.

Vader is a MUTHAfukkIN THREAT in these add on series. Utterly terrifying.

Leia seems like a young Carrie Fischer and not a yound Leia, but I'll allow it, cause it works.

It's still uncanny to me just how well Ewan Mcgregor nailed Alec McGuinness's vocal mannerisms.

I didn't have a problem with Reva. Matter of fact, I LOVED Reva

I DIDN"T love how she ran up on Vader after we watched him flex so hard in ep 5. Or her actions in ep 6. Cause both them shyts was pointless.

I'ma give this series a 4.25/5 and blame COVID for the first 4 eps
