I mean I wouldn’t call it coasting.
In comparison to modern horror, he’s putting a level of thought and craftsmanship not usually seen nowadays. Most of the time low budget horror with a message is for film studies class. He’s doing in for mainstream audiences and nobody seems interested in touching his lane.

I was legit worried Keke would be the worst part of the movie. Felt it was odd to 'step down" from Lupita or not get another black actress who is more serious or acclaimed.
I talked to two people I trust and they said she stole the movie.
Gotta own up to it.
