Ive been bitten by one in the back of the neck while doing construction
Wheel bugs are apart of the assassin family.
Their bite is so painful that it is worse than a snake bite and even a hornet sting. People have reportedly begged to die or contemplated suicide after being bitten and pain lasts for days.

I felt something land on me, I put my hand back to swat and it already got me by the time I grabbed and squeezed it
All I can say is, it feels WAY, WAY WORSE than any sort of wasp or hornet sting, and yes it lasts for days, and luckily they were still handing out pain pills without issues at that time
