Great system ya'll. Just recently dusted off this XL and have been playing some great games. Games i recommend are:

Donkey Kong Country Returns...
Legend of Zelda: A Link Between World (OG Link to the past sequel! )
Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon

Great gaming to be had on the 3DS ya'll.

whats a Street Pass?

a feature that uses your Mii to communicate w/ other 3DSes. When you Streetpass someone, their data is passed along....such as their Mii, game they're currently playing, location, etc. You can then use this w/ Street Plaza to play the built in games that utilize SP. There's Puzzle Swap and Find Mii 1/2. You can buy additional games such as a shooter, world domination game, gardening, and haunted house game.

Finally, some other games utilize SP as well. For example, A link between worlds allows you to challenge shadow links that you/they tailor equip for battle. Or in Resident Evil: Revelations, you get supplies. Different games utilize it in different ways.

You can get SPs by taking your 3DS to populated locations where there's a likelyhood 3DSes will be present...such as the mall, public transit, school, events.

Some places like Best Buy, Starbucks utilize Nintendo Zone and the Street Pass relay were you and others can "Drop off" their Miis for the next 3DS to pick up.


Finally in relation to the relay point, it is possible to make your own home relay to pick up Miis globally.
