Can't just spoil a character's backstory like that but you'll be aight. The actress is a real female IRL she just portrayed a trans character.
Best movie I've ever seen on Netflix is TIMETRAP. If you haven't seen it I highly recommend it. Its got a small budget and no name actors in a bizzare plot that somehow ends up being amazing.

Just a guess. But I felt like the fact they have to keep doing games again and again was a analogy to the 9 to 5 rat race. Optimistic but really have no chance. And the whole collect all the cards and Escape was a organized religion analogy. False prophets selling you a dream to give you false hope.
