Nas? nah he's not on the tracklist unless he's on the itunes exclusive or somethingSo he's not rapping on it?
Damn, what I would give to have more Nas on some sweat Dilla beats.Nas? nah he's not on the tracklist unless he's on the itunes exclusive or something
- nasIt's been a long time coming... I'm proud to announce that @Massappealrecs will be putting out #JDilla's long lost vocal album, The Diary on 4/15, along with his Estate. Check out the first track "The Introduction" & pre-order the album now on @iTunes found.ee/JDillaTheDiary
DJ Houseshoes produced that beat. When Nas rapped over Gobstopper, Houseshoes wasn't impressed and kinda caught feelings. He also said Dilla made a track specifically for Nas, and he still has it. He said he'd give it to Nas if he wants...
This was all on Twitter back when Nas dropped The Season.
Just based off the reaction from people who guard Dilla's legacy I don't think Nas asked for permission to rap on it. But whatever the issue was it has been resolved. Shoes is promoting this album and seems happy...and Shoes is almost never happy lmao so you know it's real.Aparrently they must've put to bed any issues. But some of these producers REALLY need to chill with the "so and so made this JUST for you" thing, like it's almost a guilt trip tactic. If Nas was feeling Gobstopper, and went through the proper channels to rock over the beat, everybody else should STFU with that petty shyt. There's NO guarantee that Nas would've been inspired to record to the other beat, and given Dilla's passing it's not like it could've been reworked or redone to fit both men's vision.
"TRUTH"
The mere thought of a collab
Why the hell would he need permission to spit a freestyle song over a released beat that mad people spit over already? nikkas be salty as fukk for no reason these days.Just based off the reaction from people who guard Dilla's legacy I don't think Nas asked for permission to rap on it. It's a shame Nas and Dilla didn't work together in life. IMO Nas is at his best over funky soulful shyt with hard drums, and that's right up Dilla's alley.
