Define my Name was very average and almost like a bare bones minimalist beat.
I mean the Armani Section beat is ok, don't get me wrong, but honestly, it sounds like every other one of Preme's beats. It's nothing new or revolutionary.

How long have we been waiting for this Nas and Primo album? 20 years?

That shyt better be revolutionary and they know it after seeing what Common and Pete did.
I don't want to hear Nas spit over some generic throwaway Primo beats like that Beat Breaks song they did.

Wave Gods was the last decent song they did together, and I think Preme only did the scratches on that. Hit Boy did the beat itself.

Give me that "I Gave You Power" type vibe......strings, scratches, soul samples. Hard drums. Storytelling.
If one of the greatest hip hop songs is your barometer then you might as well not listen :manny: . That Common Pete joint is becoming the most overrated album this decade. I don't hear what y'all do, majority of it sound like some hotel lobby music

That was my initial reaction to it solid. Then my girl called me while she was driving listening '' this album boring as hell" :dead: :mjlol: "I'm about to fall asleep behind the wheel let me play Alfredo or Magic":russ:. I liked the LL album more :manny:

I fukked with the Common and Pete album heavy and thought it was great by 2024 standards. But it ain't revolutionary. They both got plenty of superior projects.

And like I predicted the :flabbynsick: contingent that hyped it most and hated on KD and Magic because of Hit ain't even support it. Never made the Billboard 200. It's doing less streams a day than Magic 2 :picard:

I liked the Freeway joint AB Soul Gotta Rap joint the DP joint Preemo ain't dropping no revolutionary shyt at this point neither is PR. nikkaz in their mid 50's I knew this would happen. It's not Nas is Like not good enough I prefer multiple producers 12 tracks 3 Preemo 3 Hit 3 ALC other 3 pick anybody. No matter what Nas Preemo drop it won't be good enough because their track record is immaculate :manny:

None of this would be accepted because it's not "Nas Is Like" "Memory Lane":snoop:

You see i fukks with these joints though bc they are ALL better than Break Beats, Define my Name and that new Rock song. Esp EAT. That track is fire. It's got like a melodic vibe and you can nod your head to it.

And, lets be real fam, as Ziggiy said that Common and Pete joint was one of the best rap albums of 2024. The beats have that old school classic feel to them. Esp tracks like "This Man"

I think the Common and Pete Rock album was really great, but there's nothing revolutionary about it and that's fine I didn't expect that just like I don't expect that for the Nas and Primo album.

So then what are y'all saying in here? That you got no expectations for an album the fanbase has been waiting like 20+ years for?
Are we not supposed to have expectations for our artists?

They can just drop a piece of wack dog shyt and y'all would be ok with it?

Cmon, let's do better.

King's Disease won a Grammy, and KD 2 was nominated for Best Rap Album also.

Should we not expect a Grammy level performance for this album?

I think Primo saw what Nas did with Hit-Boy and what the Common and Pete album sounded like so I think he feels the pressure a little bit.

They both gotta hit on this album or they will BOTH never live the criticism down.

It will be never ending fans saying "We waited 20 years for this and the shyt was wack".......or "Primo lost it" or "the album is average but the KD and Magic series is better......etc etc......

Nas and Primo would never live it down if the album sucks.

No I want a dope album like the KD and Magic series, there was nothing revolutionary about them either, they don't need to do some groundbreaking stuff for the album to be amazing.
