Drake, Kendrick, Lil Wayne, Travis, Cole, Kanye, Jayz ect fan base are just as passionate, go to their shows and buy their merch too. So what’s your point? The difference is their fan base will still give them top selling albums without strategic features or interviews So you are right y’all can’t compare. Obviously, Nas loves y’all anyway 😂

If you support the truth to what i’m saying shouldn’t bother you. Shyt, I support too and listen to all the hype on social media and still be puzzled by those streaming numbers.😂

They all on major labels that spend millions on recording budgets and marketing campaigns for every release. They got the top playlist placements and the streaming farms working overtime. And aside from one name on that list you talking about dudes with core fanbases that's at least 10-20 years younger than Nas's and fully embraced the streaming era

Insinuating Nas and his management don't understand that releasing music independently mean he not operating on an even playing field as major label A-listers far as audience awareness and product placement, you insulting their intelligence and ours

Nas is winning! HE WILL ALWAYS WIN! As his fam/friends we see the dedication and love that he has for the art of hip hop culture. So we talk shyt when we see fit to do so. @Surreal LOST 😂 and that’s 💯

The real stans knew I was joking as I've been supporting Esco since before he even dropped an album and why they didn't respond to the Nas lost post :stopitslime:

Look. Nas has an older fan base for the most part who doesn’t sit around streaming all day. Let alone the fact that he releases these albums with barely any promo and the one that had the most promo and the biggest features guess what? Sold the most. When u get these features it’s to produce a return on investment. Eminem being on KD2 definitely helped sell that shyt. I know Nas fans who don’t even know when some of these releases came out. Cause he will just drop that he’s releasing shyt on his IG like a week before. Not do much promo or interviews. And shyt. He still sells more than Alotta people who have hit singles on the radio. Criticizing his fan base is silly af.
My sister got KD1 and didn't even know he put out 3 albums after that. I dont even know how he could promote it better. No one listens to the radio anymore, so I guess his celebrity friends could help promote it. :dead: made her get them later though, plus and Illmatic vinyl since she just got a record player.:ahh:

it's different, these artist got a broader audience and their stan are gonna push the music no matter what but they are not really critical of the music like nas' fan are. and more importantly these artist are pushed by big machines, they get in the forefront of the streaming platforms, they are the ones who takes the grammies, they do multi millions dollars tours, the radio and media platforms makes their promo everyday. nas is creeping into it but is not quite there yet. jay drop a verse, all of sudden guru, elliott and them post a tweet about the greatest verse ever and then he got to perform it at the grammy and wayne and rick ross is on the track. it's all about the hype, create a random moment into a big event. if jay was in nas' place he would have bring lauryn hill and eminem to msg to mark the event. him being at the louis vuitton fashion show and doing the roc brunch is to say, i'm the hottest thing in town, so when he will come with music, the sales will be there.
drake wasn't critically sucessful with honestly nevermind, so he came right back with 21 savage for support and it worked. cole do a lot of interviews, constantly bringing himself to his audience and his fan base is very solid. kendrick became the new hipster favorite art*ts. travis went with kylie abd is a trap star. each of theses guy got their lanes.
nas is a everywhere and nowhere at the same time. As dope as the music is, there's a lack of making it an event, explain to the audience what you trying to achieve, what the run with hit boy boy is about, why continue to make music and what do you expect from the fans

She never said he was depressed but he damn sure ain’t pleased with it. Why is that so hard to comprehend? Y’all talk about her but yet take things personal as well. if you do your part then great. But don’t act like what she is saying don’t have validation bc it does. One would think the real ones would be bigger the way this forum carries on for days about nothing. The real
ones spend more days discussing producers he should work with on an album not released yet than streaming his albums already released on streaming platforms.

By the way Nas releases bc he does has obligations to his own label/business. Why would he spend money on promo to produce the same results? By the way those big artists cost money as well. That’s smart business 101. But anyway I’m wasting my time here.
So that’s why he’s (allegedly/apparently) releasing another album with virtually no promo and less than a week of prep time for fans. Which will likely result in the same 20-35k first week sales followed by falling off the Billboard 200 within 1-2 weeks.

As many people have said, Nas has a very loyal fanbase that supports. But if you want to do bigger numbers you have to…do things that result in bigger numbers from non-fans and casual fans. Not doing those things and then complaining about sales (again) is just dumb. Want to sell? Announce your album in advance instead of doing surprise drops. Drop a video/single a week before your album drops. Do interviews/noteworthy podcasts before and after your album drops. Don't want to do Joe Budden and Math Hoffa? Fine, whatever. The Pivot makes sense. Shannon Sharpe's pod makes sense. Have big features on the album that generate buzz and streams. Kendrick's manager is Nas' manager. If Drake isn't dropping on the 21st, a feature would make perfect sense. Kodak has wanted to work with Nas for years. Get some women on the album. SZA, Summer Walker, Cardi, whoever.

Out of all the KD/Magic albums, only 6 tracks have as many or more streams than either the Metro/Spider-Man track or the 21 Savage track (on Spotify). Out of those 6 tracks, 5 have features. Seems pretty obvious that bigger features=bigger tracks=bigger streams/sales. Only one track on KD3 has more than 7mil streams The fans are supporting. You need more casuals if you want bigger sales. Stop comparing Nas to bigger artists like Kendrick or Cole and recognize where he is at this point in his career and what he needs to do.

I’m convince y’all use being old, employeed with a spouse and kid(s) as an excuse to not learn the new streaming game. Support the old way but learn to support the new way as well. WE ARE IN THE YEAR 2023. But that maybe too much for y’all old ass😂 but at least y’all fav artist is learning the new technology way of doing things😂. PEACE! In general, majority of the artists you named make more commercially accessible music - or they lead off with more commercially accessible singles. Its not just their core fans who are streaming their music, its people who heard a song on a curated playlist, or some other medium and then they want to circle back to it. Like I said, core Nas fans are good to show up for 20-30k ish in sales, maybe 35..and thats not even “true sales”. Like be forreal about this shyt, how many streams is a sale? Twitter street team really think Nas fans gonna be in bed streaming songs with the phone on mute, then have the tablet open in the other room streaming too all night to push sales. nikkas just want to listen to and enjoy the music in an organic way

I don't have access to this data but if its out there someone look up the most streamed songs from the Hit Boy series and tell me Spicy, EPMD and Nobody aren't all in the top 5, and tell me that nothing from Magic besides the Asap record is up there? shyt that is just Nas bars and Nas doing the hook is not the mass appeal sound that drives streams. So why not bring in a Weeknd, or a Snoh Aalegra/Jhene Aiko type to sing a hook for you? Why not collab with a Kendrick? Would that not be the #1 topic on every rap podcast?

Also to add to this. Nas is INDEPENDENT. lol.
