I still can’t get over charlamagne having Black Rob over Nas in story telling :mjlol:
Rob has told some great stories Life Story I Love you baby being some of his best. Nas could probably go 5 albums deep with story material. It's clear as day what they are trying to do dismiss his catalog like this shyt ain't happen "it's not as good as you remember it". You don't say a nikka that wrote something like the One love 3rd verse I Gave You Power or Rewind (A song fukking backwards that had never been done in Hip Hop) as he just "good". Say you don't know the catalog move on:camby:

Unfortunately I’m not. This is how low the media has stooped towards Nas.:snoop:

Starting to think Nas is a really awful person to these people behind the scenes.

Like dude is pissing in nikkas coffees, impregnating they’re wives and forcing the husbands to sign the birth certificate, tossing newborn babies off speeding boats. Lighting up spliffs in the non-smoking section. Returning Library books months late and not paying the fee.

It baffles the MIND that two supposed Hip Hop heads would really, with a straight face and clear conscience state that Nas isn’t INARGUABLY one of the top 3 best storytellers in rap history.

Fam I’m really not surprised, but I was watching the video in disbelief about how flagrant it was. I had to rewind it a couple of times to make sure I didn’t miss something. I truthfully think they realize that Nas is the only competition to Jay, so the goal continues to be downplay Nas as much as possible to continue to keep Jay elevated. If they gave Nas too much praise over the last few years, it would make Jay look really bad.

We know what's it about Nas practically said himself on the Season

Let me make this clear, they fear the gifted
Some say Shakespeare never existed
Wow, now, look at the amount of resistance
Attempts to chisel my face, from the mountain you guessed it

nikkaz been saying this for over 22 years but Nas stans delusional :camby:

Nas only gets praise when it comes to them trying to keep some sort of beef or bullshyt brewing. When 21 Savage said his little bullshyt about Nas relevance Charlemagne was one of the main people sounding the alarm proclaiming how blasphemous it was for him to disrespect Nas, but when it comes to an honest to goodness SLAM DUNK conversation clearly in favor of Nas they straight up tossed what is arguably his greatest artistic strength in the bushes.

Look I love Jay-Z. I really do. He’s been permanently entrenched as my number 2 favorite MC for 15 years now. But to even ATTEMPT to list that nikka amongst rap’s greatest storytellers is a DISGRACE to storytelling as an artform within the genre. A complete and utter FRAUDULENT statement. Its all just revolting how blatant this shyt is. Nas is the reason why Lupe Fiasco, J.Cole, and Kendrick Lamar TELL stories in their raps and they’ve all said so. Even Drake said he specifically studied Nas for his STORYTELLING ability.

I think we need to finally admit, as Nas fans, that the man himself might just be a bad person. Thats the ONLY explanation for this bullshyt. Nas makes people’s mother’s cry and he kicks puppies in the street. Thats the only explanation brehs

Jay just seems to hover over the media industry as some sort of King Maker, which makes everyone not want to annoy him for fear of their careers. Jay isn't the best lyricist, isn't anywhere near a great story teller. His voice is weak, his catalogue is only above average, and lost the battle to Esco. Yet they treat dude like he's some musical savant. It's hilariously strange.

Anyone with a trained ear would easily understand that Nas is far superior to Jay. It should be common sense, really.

You got dudes (Symba) talking about why Jay is the best and doesn't even mention anything Music or skills related. It's always about money and Beyonce. It's embarrasing. Imagine any other genre of music anointing an artist as the greatest because of their financial status or who they're married to. And in these type of interviews (Symba with Math Hoffa or Yayo on drink champs) notice how there is always someone that mentions Nas as a GOAT contender (Math, or someone in the audience) and the interviewee (Symba or Yayo) play dumb as if they didn't hear it. They just don't want to bring Nas up and state the obvious, which is that dude is simply and clearly the GOAT.

absolute clowns but more than anything its given Nas more attention. As all the comments on YoutTube and twitter about how disgraceful the dismissal of Nas is. So in some ways its shone a light to young people who don't know about Nas how good of a story teller he is because comment sections blowing up with Nas storyelling examples

lot of these personalities actually aint even big hip hop fans or that knowledgeable (or they're doing it purposefully). You can tell who really know artist's catalogues. I know Budden and his crew thrown shade at Nas but i've seen them all on their podcast recite multiple bars off Watch Dem nikkas and Math Hoffa will have a guest say a random Nas line and he'll keep it going.

So either some just don't know Nas and a lot of MCs catalogues or they doing some snake shyt. Because if you know Nas catalogue, you know he's minimum top 3 storyteller OAT

to be fair to Yayo he chose Nas over Jay on his Drink Champs. Now obviously some people prefer Jay over Nas but some definitely out of fear don't want to have the conversation. While lot of rappers who don't give a fukk will give their honest view (Kanye on Drink Champs, 50 Cent). Even Fat Joe whether it's because he feels slighted by Nas or aligned with Jay kinda down plays Nas these days. Despite us knowing Nas easily in Joe's top 3 from his historical comments about Nas
