Always in my top 10 Nas songs.

One of those songs that came out exactly when I needed it in my life as a young teen. Lowkey might be a Nas song that had the biggest impact on me, ever.

Only If I Ruled the World can compete because that's the first Nas song I remember listening to and made me a stan from first listen till now.

What's love - when you don't give your man dough he wanna stick you?
What's love - you got beef? Nobody rollin' wit you?
What's love - you locked up, and your family don't care
Is love a four-letter word, that deceives the air?

That shyt meant a lot to my dramatic ass 13 year old self.
That 2nd verse is just some incredible stuff.

Same. If I ruled the world was my introduction to Nas. They used to play that video on the box all the time. The first part of the video had the verse from the message. And I heard him on that east coast/ west coast killas and my young ass was was like this dude is amazing. :whoo: I was maybe 10 years old at the time. I remember wanting to get "it was written" and my dad shut that down quick . He didn't let me hear rap albums at that age cause of the content. Funny enough "If I ruled the world" isn't even in my top 30 nas songs at this point

What's real, when you talk behind a man's back
Then you see him and give him dap, now explain that

Won't hesitate, I'ma spray fire
But everybody's different, you won't know how you react

Went through this exact situation son music just hits different for me real life :wow:

One of Nas' and overall hiphop's realest song ever wrote. I know a lotta heads prefer the original but to me the MF Doom version just elevates it to another vibe and status...

And that bar.... "They never know we're enemies til they hear me say it, til their kids on the phone saying Please Daddy pay it"

Top 10 Nas track
Amen to that my breh. It's beautiful.

No one reminisces like him. Never been to new York but every time he talks about it, I feel like he is taking me back.

The start ' the ill reminiscer thinking about them fly days, nothing like them 80s summer NY days...

That second verse is just everything I love about hip hop and then the way the song rides out at the end... Glorious shyt!!

That’s crazy, I ran thru that album this morning randomly and it put me in Nas mode all day. Album is greatness…it got love but it’s still underrated

As long as we're posting remixes, here's a shameless plug for one I did.
