Wherever nikkas need to be told on
“ I'm recording now, so we'll see what happens. I feel really good about that and I don't wanna stop it once it's flowing the way it's flowing. It feels very free and I just wanna see what happens as I stick to it. And I've been sticking to it and it's been my whole life now. Like, if I’m recording, I don't do anything else really. It hasn't been this way for me for probably 20 years. “

An album is DEFINITELY coming this year!
Agreed and I think it’s almost a guarantee he has a record called “50” which probably will include a celebration of hip hop and him turning 50 years old this year or some reminiscing/reflecting what’s happened the past 1/2 century.

Extremely. He has modern bangers on that album.

I think the sequencing as compared to KD2 and KD3 hurts KD1 a bit.

That stretch of nothing but female focused songs from Replace Me to All Bad is a bit repetitive, though all the songs are good I think if they switched the order a bit it’d make for a stronger play through.

KD2 and KD3 AND Magic are all PERFECTLY sequenced. I wouldn’t change the song order on any of those 3

getting placement on the spidey soundtrack was brilliant

This is why I’m so big on Nas working with the younger producers like hit boy and Metro. It opens Nas up to a much bigger audience and then to top it off Nas sounds great over modern production that mixes in the boom bap. It’s also why an album produced by Hit and Metro would be massive. Throw 2 big features on the album and that album will go.

Understandable. That’s actually one of my favorite parts of that album. But then again, I see how some people would like it sequences different.

Personnally I would have open kd 3 with 30, that was the perfect intro. and get rid of till my last breath and close with ghetto reporter, the outro of the song would have made a great album closure. I thought ghetto reporter and legit back to back while good songs was a slow start

Yeah honestly I couldn’t see ghetto reporter as the closer or anywhere but the beginning, but everyone has their different opinions. :manny:

I could possibly see 30 as the second track but honestly the sequencing on this series has been nothing but solid for the most part.

Eh, I don’t know. The run from Ghetto Reporter to Legit to Thun works really well imo. Especially considering when the album dropped Legit and Thun were getting hyped up the most on social media. To me those were the songs that drew people in the most.

30 is great but using it as an intro would’ve been like opening your show with your biggest song. Not sure that would’ve flowed well.

In retrospect I think they could have removed Til The War Is Won altogether (Replace Me and All Bad are better songs imo) and added another Blue Benz/The Cure type record to either the front or back portion of the album.

Til The War Is Won is Nas favorite song on the album. He specifically brought the sample to Hit Boy for him to use so that song was always going to make it.

Personally I could live without All Bad. Its not a bad song by any means but it doesn't HIT me like the rest of the joints on the album.

Another thing to remember is that KD1 was originally supposed to be a Valentine's Day themed EP so all the female focused songs kind of make sense because thats where the germ of him working with HB came from.
