Magic is straight bars. I’ve ALWAYS been more of a fan of Nas as an artist than Nas as a straight spitter. Death Row East, Rare, Store Run, Moments, Composure, Nobody, My Bible, Nas Is Good. THATS the greatest of MC of all time because nobody has the perspective or the ability to tell a story or the eye for detail that Nas does. Its why Untitled is my personal favorite Nas album. Its why It Was Written>>>>>Illmatic for me. Its why I bump Distant Relatives at least twice a month for the past 12 years.

Magic is great, but in my opinion its for the trapped in the 90’s nikkas. Kings Disease 2 (and now KD3) is more indicative of who Nas is as a person and the creative direction that keeps him relevant. That plus its Hit Boy’s best ever production job in my opinion
Well said

Can't wait for a magic 2. Want something like that before KD 4. Give me bars for 9 or 10 tracks and 2 or 3 features. He just went on tour with Wu and Busta, I'm sure there was a studio somewhere

I don't think it is really it's just the other albums are better :ahh:
Right. KD1’s appeal was the surprise that Nas still had IT and was putting out great work out of nowhere that late in the game. But if you listen to all three albums straight through you really notice how much better he got album to album.

U really ain't fukk wit KD3 like that I wonder why.
I like it, I just think the others are better. Magic is a 4.5 for me. KD2 is too. KD1 is about a 4 or so. KD3 is a 3.5 for me, with room to rise up (to a 4). Too early for a definitive rating.

Did the beats and rhymes have the least quality out of the four? Or did you just not feel the album like the others? Sometimes you just don’t feel something like that, ain’t no real explicable reason

KD3 is my favorite but all my favorite songs are from the other albums I’ve noticed, 😳. KD3 probably doesn’t have 1 song in my Top 10 out of the KDs and Magic.

This is kinda my view. I just think the other ones have better and more standout tracks. And I like the production more on Magic and KD2. There are some instrumental parts of the beats in KD3 that feel a bit too sample pack-esque for me. Couple of tracks I'm not into but overall I still like the album. It's good, just the others are great.

Agree. KD1 had the warmest and most modern production of any of them and was a welcome surprise during the height of COVID lock down. He seemed laid back and lyrically wasn't his most impressive effort but good content and easy album to listen to

KD2 had more throwback sound with a few modern sounding tracks, good balance of content between introspection and flexing

Magic was like a tribute to mid-90s through early 00s production with Nas just rapping his ass off and no fat. His best hooks of the 4 too

KD3, he rapping at a higher level than KD1 far as lyrics and flows, but I'm taking Car 85, Blue Benz, Full Circle and The Cure over basically anything here. Agree the production is the weakest of the four projects. Good album but maybe my least favorite of the series
