I think Nas is under-appreciated in the modern mainstream media because he’s never kissed ass or fostered the industry relationships that somebody like Jay has, except for in 2012 when it seemed like he was getting a LOT of love for media outlets when Life Is Good dropped.
But in the actual community and culture of HIP HOP Nas is a God. He’s literally synonymous when it comes to top 5. And his music really speaks for itself to the point where if you’re criticizing the songs or bars you simply come off as foolish. Take the Rolling Stone review of King’s Disease for instance, they called it the most “Misogynistic Album Of The Year”. An album that has fukking Till The War Is Won on it is misogynistic?!?! Or the Kings Disease 2 review by Pitchfork where the kid clearly had absolutely no idea what he was talking about. They come off looking worse for wear than Nas does.
Those are on Apple Music too.Been searching for some rarer songs on Spotify and found a couple. Amongst Kings is on Spotify under "Among Kings" by Nas & the Game if you wanna throw it on your Nas playlists. The Foulness freestyles are also on there in good quality, search Nas Q B Freestyle Pt. I and II. Also, does anyone have the Nas/Dream song that got left off KDI at the last minute? Seems it got scrubbed from the internet.
