I'm glad that Nas caught his 3rd wind in his career and getting appreicated in 2021/2022, but why the media still trying to snub him? :why:

Even mixtape rappers like Uncle Murda, those drill rappers, and others still kinda downplay him and his impact.

First time hearing this song in sometime. We might need to have a legitimate convo about Nas in 1999. I’ve seen the narrative be that he fell off after IWW and Jay resurrect his career with Takeover. Or its “Nas picks bad beats blah blah blah” But I have to admit this is a low key fire beat by Timbo and the hook is real catchy. This also kinda reminded me that Cole mentioned You owe me in a bad light on “Let Nas Down”, and in retrospect “You Owe Me” is a much better track than “Work Out”.

If I Am comes out as a double disc as it was intended too, Nas has 3 classics in a row & his career trajectory is completely different & I say that to say this current run he’s on is legendary..Even more so than Hov currently idgaf..2 flawless albums 2 yrs straight this deep in his career & still has momentum

Since 1983, Brooklyn native Ralph McDaniels, founder and curator of the Video Music Box has been instrumental in documenting the evolution of Hip-Hop culture. McDaniels, affectionately known as “Uncle Ralph”, through Video Music Box, has played an integral role within the community of Hip-Hop, which positions him as a unique preservationist with historic memory.

I am still 4.5 mics as is. It has 2 misses. I am is still a phenomenal album. Everybody was banging I am when it came out and I know several people that have I am as their nas favorite album. Its just of recent that people try to hate on it. I just chalk it up to the discredit Nas factor.

This.

With I Am..., I feel that he still would've caught criticism had he dropped it as a double album as intended. He would've still been hit with the "it should've been one disc" and "its bloated", "it has filler" criticisms other doubles have faced.

It is still a good album as is. I feel like the first 7-8 songs are all heat with "Nas Is Like" and "Undying Love" rounding out the order. My only gripe is that it doesn't feel like an "autobiography" and some of the songs that were omitted like "U Gotta Love It", "Drunk By Myself", "Belly Button Window", "Project Windows" and "Poppa Was A Playa" would've given it that feel with the right sequencing.
