See this is why I feel Napoleon has the most accurate version of this story. He doesn’t seem to be tryna clout chase or seem super hard, he just tells his perspective from how he remembers it and he respects everyone involved

I know this has been told a 100 times, but this goes into more detail.

was about to post this too. Heard this story so many times but never heard this level of detail.

the 4 huge guys overhearing and saying they’re ready to go too was a great anecdote

I trust Wiz’ experience. Memories can alter things a little after 25 years but think he tells it in good faith . I’ve heard him talk on this story before and never felt he tries to exaggerate like Jungle does.

Crazy breh had the gun out on Suge and Jungle telling them to shoot and Nas tapping Jungle to STFU and he does it instantly

My one area of interest he missed out was he never mentions where Pac’s crew was. He said QB surrounded Pac. My understanding was the Jersey brehs then circled round the QB guys but Wiz doesn’t mention where they’re at after some go left and right

Also LES coming back with an actual Iron from his house :russ:

First time hearing this song in sometime. We might need to have a legitimate convo about Nas in 1999. I’ve seen the narrative be that he fell off after IWW and Jay resurrect his career with Takeover. Or its “Nas picks bad beats blah blah blah” But I have to admit this is a low key fire beat by Timbo and the hook is real catchy. This also kinda reminded me that Cole mentioned You owe me in a bad light on “Let Nas Down”, and in retrospect “You Owe Me” is a much better track than “Work Out”.

you owe me is not a bad song, it's just that people didn't expect Nas to do this kinda track. I like Nas lyrics and flow on there but the overall song is forgetable. And from a production standpoint, the beat don't compare with other timbo productions from the same era "jigga who jigga what" "hey papi" "big pimpin" "hot boyz" "ride or die bytch" ect
