I always thought the Mass Appeal music department was terrible.. Nas is keeping that side of the business afloat lol
There's a whole Eastcoast underground movement right now with a bunch of dudes who probably worship Nas who would love nothing more than to be able to partner up with him and they all bring a little fanbase to the table already.. I wish Nas n them would tap into that market.

Mass Appeal music was looking like it was about to make some noise just three years ago. They released the Starting Five album, which I thought was dope and had some great underground artists they were pushing.

Fashawn was kind of the “flagship” artist but he hasn’t released anything in awhile. I think thats more to personal issues than any label hold up. They’ve got some international artists that have released projects within the past year but nobody (besides Nas of course) thats really popping or making noise stateside.

The film division seems to be doing VERY well however. They’ve got some excellent documentaries and media projects.

Their international artists are doing very well. I'm sure they will focus on the u.s. side musically more. Maybe that new Sony deal will help as well.

If it's real then it could hint to a Lost Tapes type of release with added verses from various guests.
