Man I wish someone could have convinced Nas not to scrap those I Am tracks. Some type of last minute intervention or something lol. That way you'd have the newer tracks like Hate Me Now and Nas Is Like, plus some of the older ones. But when I say that I'm looking at it from a modern perspective, where we saw Kanye react to leaks by changing the track enough for people to still peep it on the album. Nas and Steve Stoute were literally in a position no one had been in before. That was one of the first huge albums to suffer leaks. The first online leak was U2's Pop album in 1997, followed by a big Madonna leak the next year. But Napster wasn't around then. By the time I Am leaked, Napster was just starting and that shyt was everywhere.

I would have kept the tracks and spiced some of them up. Maybe have Premo remix one, for instance. I always felt like Slick Rick could have been on Stay Schemin', Stay Dreamin'...put him on there and put the track on the album. I would have appealed to Nas' ego. You dropped two classics, now you got the chance to drop a third in a row...never been done before (by a solo rapper). Keep these tracks god...

I don’t think Nas, The Label, or anybody knew what to expect.

Remember how bad Lupe Fiasco’s leak was in 06? Thats how bad Nas’s leak was in 99 times 10. And THEN remember Illmatic was bootlegged to hell as well so i’m sure Nas and the label panicked a bit.

At the time, the compromise of releasing two separate albums in the same year probably seemed like a good idea because it gave Nas time to record new material. But Nas is always an artist who works best at his own time and pace. Rushing wasn’t in his best interest from a creative standpoint.

Hindsight is 20/20 though. Nas and us as fans just had the misfortune of what was supposed to be his magnum opus coinciding with the rise of internet pirated music.

Schooling people takes forever; don't bother
Somebody @ me when that video of nas pop locking comes up. I've been looking for that video for years. It was posted on rapnetwork for the vets that remember that site. It was in London and Kay Slay was with him. Nas was performing Made you look but before that he was battling with some break dancing guy. It was epic then boom made you look came on.

I may have found it..."pop locking face covered with stocking"

:whoo:

Nas fukked around and performed Rakim's Eric B is President joint in the same video

Nah fam you have to buy life insurance. But also have to buy stocks as well. But obviously getting life insurance early would be more ideal.

Yeah.. to add on. You buy life insurance as early as you can. Its much cheaper and you are locked in that rate for life. I waited much longer to get it.. basically. when I got married. I pay 127.00 a month. If i got it in my 20s, It would probably be around 30.00 a month

also, music mafia went down but thesource2 is live, you can make an account there to hear all the snippets The Source including Nas'

I would prefer to hear it fresh. And within the mix of the project. Also I want to make sure to properly support it with streaming it since Nas is on it.
