Lmao real talk tho I need one more Premo joint. For old times sake.

You think it could be the Swizz project? He has confirmed he did an album’s worth of material with Nas. We got a couple of the joints on LT2.

It could be anything. I’m not really up on speculating as i’m simply beyond grateful we’ll be getting the Hit Boy produced album next week. I HIGHLY doubt Nas will be releasing TWO albums in 2020 so who knows when we’ll get the second project and what form it will take when it does indeed see the light of day.

I have to think that the next project, after this one, will include some of the material that he has been collecting over the last several years.

Yeah I hope it's a collection of the best tracks he's recorded over the past 5+ years

but one album at a time

after the hiatus between LIG and Nasir, when it seemed like he was spitting almost nothing but heat on guest appearances, I'm just grateful that we get three straight summers with new material... I loved Nasir and LT2, but this new Hit Boy shyt sounds like it's going to be fresh and well thought out... 9 more days

I'm going into this not knowing what to expect in a good way. That's part of the reason why I am a Nas fan. No matter the results, you never know what you're getting with Nas albums.
That's facts, and that's something we should all salute Nas for, he is always lightweight reinventing himself and his sound, even if it sometimes doesn't connect all the way you gotta respect the artistry and the experimentation. shyt like that is rare in rap, especially from an established, street oriented MC

props for this post. Well said. I don’t know Hit Boi’s music and don’t really care enough about today’s rappers to follow but I do care about the work he puts in with Nas and Nas’ catalogue and legacy so I will have a fresh pallet for the project when it drops. With that being said, Nas’ Demo of On the Ave that was posted a few days ago made me hungry for those old Lost Tapes. Lol.

Really, New Nas or old Nas, I want to hear the GOD spit!!

Its interesting how some people feel like Nas has a lot of pressure with this album because of the reception Nasir and LT 2 got and not on Hit Boy

In terms of public perception (if you count critics and social media) yeah the past couple of years feel even worse than pre-stillmatic or pre-Life is Good, he was still selling albums and singles and/or getting critical acclaim at the time before those dropped. So yeah this would feel more urgent especially when other guys over 40 are killing it...but hes also in year 26 since the release of his first album and remains etched in top 5/top 10 lists like now you wanna bump him off?

On other hand, this would do a lot for Hit Boy. Hes kinda of Hit and miss but a modern super producer still who does have a diverse range of beats. Doing a whole album with a legend, whos always debated with praise and criticism particularly for his beat choices coming off 2 lukewarm recieved projects (not my opinion) would be amazing for him.

I dont know if they see it that way and if its just another project for him but it could be something special if he realizes it

I rarely stream. I just buy shyt still lol. Quite a few albums this year.

My girl has Spotify and sometimes I dabble in it but streaming isn’t for me. I like owning things, having files etc.

With Nas albums I always

Purchase Vinyl or Merch directly from his website
Purchase a digital copy via itunes
Stream the album for the entire weekend to help him with streaming numbers

Word I understand that. I'm going to do both. Streaming is huge these days, so I'm going to do that too. We gotta give Nas his flowers while he still rapping. I have a good feeling about this project too.
