Hit Boy is exactly the type of "new-ish" producer I'd want Nas to work with. He does trap but also has a variety of tracks with hard ass snares, which lend itself to Nas. Honestly keeping it a buck...Drake's producers fit Nas like a glove. Hit Boy, Boi1da (who did Trust), 40 (who did Bye Baby). Those "Drake sounds" from the throwback 90s r&b shyt with reverb, to the hard drums over a dope sample shyt. That's right up Nas' alley...just like Ross' (non trap) beats tend to be right up that alley.

He needs to work Knxwledge too

Nas would've floated on these beats :wow:

I agree with this 100% he is a perfect producer for Nas that can go in different bags of sounds.

I guess it doesn't matter since we are getting a Nas album but I do wonder how much of this is going to be new work vs. the post LIG work the Hip Hop was lending an ear to. Either way I was shocked by the news and I am excited to hear it.

Also, I'm feeling the On the Ave snippet that dropped. Sounds good! I told ya'll I want those early Nasty Nas work on a future LT installment.

I think the most we’ll ever hear from the “Nas Album Done” era is on Lost Tapes 2. This Hit Bot project seems to be brand new

Yeah, I kinda agree. LIG was what 2012 and if he started right after that, those beats, sonically, may not fit with the recently recorded music. Man! Nas must be sitting on a mountain on of unreleased music.

I actually think nas has so much recorded that he probably has songs from those recording sessions that he will implement with maybe his other project? For example, he was just in the studio with dre. We know he has songs with swizz, alc , timbo and various other producers. He is probably really excited for this hitboy one and will be geared up to drop again in 2021.

Does anyone know exactly what Pete Rock said about It Was Written? I know he did the Street Dreams remix and sent beats to Nas for the album, and I've seen @Ziggiy and others mention he hated on the album because he wasn't on it...but I've never seen the actual quotes or interview.

I remember Steve Stoute saying Q-Tip heard the album (or It Was Written) and said he was ruining Nas' career. I don't think I remember Large Pro saying anything about it.

True. Ok so Hit Boi is doing the entire album? Or will it be more like an EP i.e., Nasir?

Yup this entire project will be an album produced entirely by hit boy. I think he has that other album in the chamber too.
