That's a good point. Def that sade sample is a good bet. Yea swizz is a good bet. A couple timbo joints. I've seen him with hit boy a couple of times too. Maybe static and he might have a joint with storch.

Swizz makes sense. And remember, that doesn't mean Swizz will produce most tracks. He uses a lot of producers...Echo was produced by DJ Scratch. And if anyone is gonna introduce Nas to new producers it'll be Swizz. Could be a great thing.
So does anyone know the reason why Nas scratched the last album he was working on to do the Kanye album? I know Nas is extra picky and timing is also a factor for him. What if he wasn't happy with the work was coming out? That dude Hip Hop was supposed to pick dope beats and of course Nas can write so why didn't that shyt come out? Did he re-start again? I thought he was on his way to some post LIF greatness when the Season came out. NASIR, although good, seem to go in a different direction from The Season. LT2 was all old stuff so what is the stash looking like?
I'm not sure if he officially scratched it. Or maybe he wanted to accumulate enough tracks over time to make the best body of work. Maybe hip hop is still working with him behind the scenes or has been. Hip Hop told Mal from the joe budden podcast Nas has Echo and above level tracks in thr stash for his next album.
My PERSONAL theory is that he wanted to get off Def Jam and have his next big album drop via Mass Appeal.
So Kanye calls up “Hey! Wanna do an album?”
Nas and his team figure Kanye is a genius behind the boards, they can get hype from the pairing, and they can satisfy the Def Jam contract and then be done with them and release the “Nas Album Done” project via Mass Appeal.
They probably didn’t take into account that Kanye was going to go BATshyt crazy and become the c00n of the year, effectively tarnishing what could have been an epic album run from Kanye and a nice capper on Nas’s Def Jam career. Also Kanye didn’t deliver beats to Nas until about two weeks before it was scheduled to drop so everything was rushed and hurried.

also, am I the only one who has no desire to hear Sinatra in the Sands? Timberlake is corny af, I can already guess what Nas and Jay's verses are gonna sound like. And there's a reason why it was never released.

See, I didn't really want to say this but I agree with both points. If Nas had bangers from Timbo and works done in 2013-2014, why would he sit on them? Music trends change faster than ever now so I believe that he just wasn't feeling it. If you have an album worth of heat, you put that shyt out. I remember hearing Chuck D saying they had an album ready to drop and then they heard Eric B and Rakim and had to go back and tool up again, finally making It Takes A Nation of millions. Someone do a timeline. We need to break this down. However, I do kinda want to believe what was said earlier too about him wanting to put his next major project on Mass appeal and did NASIR to complete the contract obligation.

Also, Sinatra in the Sands is probably old now to me so there is no excitement there . As far as I'm concerned, they can throw that on LT3. I don't get hyped over a Nas/Jay track. I just want to hear Nas... and yes, I never could fukk with Justin Timberlake. LMAO.
Nas is off Def Jam and on Mass Appeal. He said as much in a press release right before Nasir dropped.
