Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley and Nas will reunite to perform their acclaimed joint album, Distant Relatives, in its entirety on Marley’s Welcome To Jamrock Reggae Cruise. The special live recreation of the hip-hop/reggae crossover LP will honor the album’s 10th anniversary. Jamaican dancehall legend Shabba Ranks is also scheduled to perform.

Now in its seventh year, the Welcome To Jamrock Reggae Cruise set for December 5th–10th sold out so quickly that event organizers added an additional cruise, set to run from November 30th–December 5th. The two 2020 editions of the Welcome To Jamrock Reggae Cruise will feature the same artist lineups and itineraries. The full lineup will be announced as the Welcome To Jamrock Reggae Cruise draws closer.

Nas and Damian Marley have enjoyed a fruitful creative partnership in years past. After Nas contributed to Marley’s 2005 single, “Road To Zion”, the two artists were inspired to hit the studio together to record a full album. The resulting project, Distant Relatives, was released on May 10th, 2010 and debuted at #5 on the Billboard 200 chart. Listen to the full album below

Those initially waitlisted for 2020 can reserve a spot now on the newly added ship, which will sail from November 30th through December 5th. Tickets for the newly added second cruise, which will take place directly before the newly added voyage, will go on sale to the general public on Tuesday, February 11th.

I feel like nas is gearing up for a summer album. He has been dropping in summer more often these days. If he drops that song with swizz and the dream for the summer that will be crazy.

If so we’ll be hearing something by March. I think Nas is done with the surprise album thing. He benefits from a traditional album rollout in my opinion.

Am I wrong for thinking nas needs a big single for this era of hip hop for his new album? Especially in this streaming era? That's why I think this rodeo remix is smart. The streaming and traffic its receiving is big.

Bruh exactly!!! This move made so much sense. It was perfect marketing for nas moving forward too for the broader audience. It makes nas look dope for not hating on lil nas x for his name and embracing him

A better argument to me is that Nas needs an ALBUM that people are going to stream for more than a week. That requires songs people want to hear, features, good videos, etc. Nas can probably do 40-50k first week with a proper album release. As far as I'm concerned he released an EP and an unreleased (and unfinished) material project. The actual ALBUM after Life Is Good hasn't been released yet.

Let Ross or Swizz exec produce and pick a mixture of dope traditional beats and more modern shyt that works for Nas.

I can agree with that. He was in the studio with hit boy the other day, which might be sonically the direction is going to more of a modern sound which I'm cool with. It also sounds like he has plenty of songs with swizz and timbo in the vault too. I'm sure plenty of otherz.
