I'd like to see Mass Appeal celebrate Nas' legacy with some re-releases of It Was Written, I Am, Stillmatic, and God's Son. They can have some unreleased music and alternate versions, and mix-tape work that was done during each era. Limited pressing on vinyls and discs. I think Nas needs to not overlook his legacy while he is alive and control it and mold it or else some else (perhaps without his best interest mind) may do it when he's gone. Pro athletes, later on in their career, start thinking about their legacies when they leave the game. They start jumping on super teams and trying to get that illusive ring, if they don't have one or trying to get another. I'd like to see Nas like that.

I really wish he would do that too, especially when it seems like in the last couple of years its been cool to shyt on Nas discography. I mean the shyt I be running into in rap twitter is weird. For like a good decade plus most rap fans fukked with Stillmatic and God Son and now peope dont even include it when they talk about Nas catalogue

I just seen a poll on twitter right now that some guy (Whos from the south) asked who had the better discography Nas and TI and granted the people went with TI cause it was all south folks but Im still surprised by that, because TI peaked with King and Nas has the catalogie we all came up off with. So its really disheartening to see people even forget Stillmatic, God Son, Life is Good, I am etc etc

But I think he gotta be careful with how he commemorates those albums too. As we saw with Lost Tapes 2, sometimes you cant just roll out shyt unpolished even if its sound fine people nitpick,, so unreleased music gotta be carefully curated still

Yeah, but celebrating and releasing is two different things so I’ll clarify what I said. Nas should celebrate older albums by releasing special editions of them. However, It Was Written and Stillmatic should be celebrated with some true celebrations and shows. He’d probably have to chill on Stillmatic a little though because that brings up Ether and they’ve moved beyond that.

This is why I said Nas is rewriting his own history by focusing on Illmatic for like damn near a decade straight like that’s the only good thing in his catalog. He needs to get off of Illmatic already.
