Exactly, breh. I knew how bad it was because I rewatched DDs3 right before Hawkeye dropped. When kingpin first showed up, I was :gladbron::banderas: waiting on mans to continue with his streak of terror from DD. Instead dude is wearing Hawaiian shirts and top hats, getting beat up by girls and getting shot in dark alleys.

Why was he even there??:mindblown:

And that's my true issue with Marvel. The showrunners for the DD universe thought enough of their viewers intellect where they gave us a 3 season arc of a slow build, a gradual taking of power cause they knew their audience was smart enough to understand it.

But the MCU writers think that all their viewers are only as smart as a 10 year old boy and we wouldn't truly grasp a criminal mastermind having folks murdered brutally from the comforts of his bedroom. MCU writers are like "no, the fans don't want to see him ordering the hit. They want to see HIM doing the hit."

And it's like nah. That's STUPID. Dude is one of the criminal masterminds of New York but he out here doing his own dirty work with only a legion of Russian jobber bros that he can call on? :mindblown:

They didn't even TRY to retain the character from DD. That's why I say they are trolling us. Feige and @Bryan Danielson know what they're doing.

Watch when DD comes out. Matt is gonna be a bumbling idiot, I'm calling it now.
MCU always changes up the costumes as often as they can. So the hawian shirt is to be expected. I don't think anyone in the MCU wore the same outfit from one project to the next. That only happens in non disney superhero movies. Iron man gets a new suit every movie. better way to sell new toys and merch.
But i agree about his behavior being wildly off his depiction in netflix

Breh if it had been Kingpin from DD wearing Hawaiian shirts, I wouldn't even trip. All I care about is the essence of the character. The only reason I bring it up is because not only did they get the character wrong, but then to put him in a Hawaiian shirt was insult on top of injury.

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
Another MCU show where it seems most of the budget gets put into the first episode.

Have to say the dip was very noticable. Especially in terms of the amount of exposition. The scene with his chick on the bike was a masterclass in going overboard with explaining everything

I was reading the 2nd, 3rd and 4th episodes are of this tone. I hope things stabilize next week now we have all the story exposition complete.

And Steven is beyond whiny so far. Happy to see Marc is in control

This. It was cool in the first episode, but his delusion is :mindblown:

But at the same time, it's his split personality. He's not supposed to act normal.

Without spoilers, tell me exactly what happens in that storyline.
Synopsis from Marvel:

THE BOOK YOU'D BE INSANE TO MISS! Marc Spector (a.k.a. Moon Knight/Jake Lockley/Steven Grant) has been fighting criminals and keeping New York City safe for years? or has he? When he wakes up in an insane asylum with no powers and a lifetime's worth of medical records, his whole identity (indentities) are called into question. Something is wrong, but is that something Marc Spector himself? Jeff Lemire (EXTRAORDINARY X-MEN) and rising star Greg Smallwood are calling everything you know about Moon Knight into question.

seems like they are going to loosely base that facility the security guard is telling Stephen about off this premise

i think they already moved past the chance for him to go there when it was Arthur Harrow's people that picked Steven up from his home instead of workers from that facility

I think that scene showing him the mental facility was just a quick homage to the Lemire comic run - you can also tell a lot of the shots from the show take inspiration from that comic too

they are doing the best job (next to Loki) of hiding the budget constraints (so far).

it's entertaining so far but 6 episodes of character interplay and introspection is not gonna cut it.

rumours suggest that there is at least a bit more of the interplay "drama" to come.

plus there is an (important) actor who hasn't shown up yet.
