This statement is the biggest problem I have with American society. Everyone worships celebrities to the point where they forget that they actually elected officials & the government to do the work they expect celebrities to do. It's the government's role to maintain peace, harmony and well being for it's citizens. The idea that someone should "give back" and speak on social issues because they became successful entertaining people was always downright mind boggling to me. Dude is a basketball player, he's not a senator.
Put the pressure on your congressmen but MJ certainly didn't sign up for this shyt because he wanted to be a basketball player.
Also, modern day Nike athletes can’t do their social activism without the work apolitical MJ put in growing that brand.
You don't have to blindly follow any person whether they are an athlete, politician or family. You can agree with some actions and disagree with others.Maybe it's just me but I've never looked at an athlete for being more than an athlete.
When your start looking at them as activist for something you believe in all it takes is one thing to happen and then you have a decision to make:
1. Do you blindly follow them?
2. Do you lick them to the curb?
I'm not saying that athletes who are active in their communities or for the people shouldn't be glorified. What I'm saying is, those that do not shouldn't be villified.
LeBron opened a school and that's great, but it's he looked at snug differently if he doesn't? He's still one of the greatest players to every play and that's what should matter.
Shut up bytch! Take Jordan's dikk out of your mouth, you were 100% behind Kaep when every cac was like, just be an athlete and play your sport. You playing both sides of the fence like a hoe.Maybe it's just me but I've never looked at an athlete for being more than an athlete.

Seeing Kobe talk made me sad
As soon as he came on I was like
Episodes 5 and 6 were incredible
Mike finally addressed the Isiah Thomas Dream Team controversy
I forgot Magic and Isiah had beef too back then. When Magic got HIV Isiah was going around asking people if Magic was gay. That shyt really bothered Magic..
Great episodes

Jordan is not the first black superstar in sports and entertainment. Not even close. Other black stars before him and after have risked more than him to use their platform to help others. Just cuz he chose not to be an activist doesn't mean we have to disregard all activism...
I'm sure we all know somebody who is Good as Hell at their Job...But you don't know them personally..
They could be a Terrible Mother/Father..Husband/Wife... but that doesn't change how they perform at work..
I see Mike the same way... His personal life has nothing to do with that he did inside those lines..
I fck with a lot of the stuff LeBron does Socially.. But that doesn't make him better than Mike on The Court..

This is why I cannot stand today’s fans. Oblivious to the past, and then when educated on it, they try their best to downplay it. And that goes across the board of all sports, especially basketball and football.
There is vilifying and there is looking the other way. What MJ did was make a joke of Black folks with racist... I mean republicans buy sneakers too. Well guess what, they go to concerts, go to Basketball games, and do all shyt like everyone else but they think you are inferior. You just bank off of being the special unicorn. Your wife, children, family members, and friends don't get the benefit, just you. Michael Jeffery Jordan. Dog, if you don't see the crime in your actions, you are blind as a bat to the problems to being withAnd I still stand behind Kap. Peace to that brotha but I'm not about to vilify a black athlete who doesn't.
It's didn't sit well with me going both ways. For Green and Barkley.first of all gotta salute big bro...peace god
but yeah 100 percent facts..thats why the thing with draymond and barkley going on and draymond disrespecting barkley's career like that didnt sit well with me at all
1. But the blind following or disparaging is exactly what happens though. You see it right now with the president.
