Microsoft needs to buy the IP from Konami.
Money is not an issue with Microsoft. They already are on a spending spree for studios for the next generation of consoles.
Imagine a new Metal Gear with a big budget from Microsoft/Xbox.
If MSFT did that, id buy a next gen XBOX day one.
I doubt Konami is interested in selling tho, its worth to much to them. At most we might see them license it out to a studio for a game.

fukk this game.
So like..... I been trynna clear up my back log if game that I bought years ago and never completed, it was this, Batman AA, Shadows of Mordor, and the last Gears.
And put it all them..... this by far has been the most disappointing.
Now time for me to finally start AC Origins..... the Egyptian one...... that one was bought day one and I never even opened it from the case, still in plastic.
After that I’m getting RD2 and will try to get back on track with staying up to date with games

Microsoft should still put a bid in for it. Metal Gear could be a first party title that would bring more customers to their next gen console. Plus they would already have a PC version ready day one since most Xbox One games have a PC version to buy from their store.
Makes more sense for Sony to try and buy it since they are still working closely with Kojima directly.

Sony probably doesn't have the money to buy the IP like Microsoft can.
I don't know who would have more money dedicated to their gaming division; I would imagine that the idea of buying the IP from Konami or even licensing it would be way too expensive for anyone, especially when considering the fact that Kojima games are absurdly expensive to begin with. The best bet would be for Kojima if he really cared about MGS still is to just do what I had theorized in the Death Stranding thread; which is to go ahead and continue making metal gear solid games without calling it metal gear solid. Go the spiritual successor route, light Mighty No. 9 and Blood Stained.

That's what I think Death Stranding is. I saw the concept art and its way too similar to Metal Gear to be a mere coincidence.
I agree with you but not because of the art. He uses the same art style for all his concept art and I could have sworn it's the same artist that does it all.
Look at what he did with Zone of Enders, that game 100% looks like it's set in the MGS universe.
