Razor - Edwin Jagger safety razor. Roughly $35.
Blades - Astra Blades. Roughly $10 on Amazon for 100 blades (they come in 20 packets of 5). I just reordered this. My 1st batch lasted me 2+ years since I only shave about 2 or 3 times a week and I can get several shaves out of 1 blade. If you want...you can buy Feather Blades, which ARE sharper, but more expensive. Amazon sells them at 50 blades for about $16. Also worth noting that if you go to a Sam's Club or Costco, you can get Mach 3 disposable razors for about $10. I keep those also for times when I'm in a rush and need to shave quickly.
I have a badger shaving brush. It's not something people need but I bought one anyway. Those range anywhere from $10 to $100 depending on the quality of the brush. Do understand that if you get real badger...it is going to have a strong, unpleasant smell when you get it. So...probably a good idea to wash it with shaving cream or something. And you may want to use an aftershave/lotion with some scent in case you need to counteract it. I have a Parker Badger Brush off Amazon for about $35.
Shaving Cream - Proraso. About $9 online. Standard Proraso shaving cream is the "green" tube. They do make a Sandalwood (the red tube) which does smell very nice but there's nothing wrong with the original. Proraso does have blue tube but I've never tested that one. I'm sure it's great. Proraso can be tough to find in stores, but if you go to a Bath & Body Works store, they sell C.O. Bigelow --- it's the same thing. Proraso just makes it for them. Understand that while spending $8 or $10 for shaving cream might seem expensive...it IS really good shaving cream...and you only need about an almond-sized amount of cream to have enough to make 3 passes over your face, so it lasts quite a while. In case you're wondering how...here's a helpful video (he shows how to lather up with and without a brush)
Facial cream is going to vary for everyone, I guess. If you have the money to spend, pretty much anything by CeraVe is going to be really good and it doesn't irritate the skin at all. Cetaphil seems more medicinal to me. It's expensive. It's great. I'm not sure that many people use it though. A somewhat cheap moisturizer/face wash is made by Cremo. I've only used the moisturizer but it's good stuff. About $8 or so. I used to be able to get this at Duane Reade in the city but it looks like they stopped carrying it. Amazon sells a package moisturizer/face wash for about $14.
I haven't used any tea tree oils or facial items like that, but a few other members seem to have a lot of success there so maybe look into that for your skin as well.
I would highly, highly recommend Baxter of California's Facial Scrub. It's expensive, about $17 but for me that shyt is amazing. Rather than having little silicone or plastic balls to exfoliate, I think they have like, crushed walnuts or something...it works and smells awesome. It's probably the only thing from BAC I would recommend. I tried their lotion but didn't really care for it.
I also use American Crew Forming Cream, but I have straight hair and that's probably not gonna apply to a lot of people
