One of the failures of Phase 5 has been not introducing the X-Men into the fold.
Instead of the dumb plot of The Marvels, that film should've been the introduction of Rogue into the MCU. The first Captain Marvel film was partially set in Louisiana; Rogue in the comics is from Mississippi (which borders Louisiana).
Rogue is a mischievous young girl/woman (late teens or early twenties) that breaks into a military base or something. Monica and Carol track her down; in the process, Rogue absorbs some of Carol's powers (thus Captain Marvel becomes less powerful and Rogue gains a ton of strength).
Because she's younger, Monica and Carol bring in Kamala Khan to help. They go looking for Rogue and find her in some camp in the Louisiana/Mississippi Bayou that's being run by Mystique and the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. Rogue eventually comes to the good side. Blah blah blah.
You guys get the point. Marvel Studios should not be keeping the X-Men completely in the shadows until Secret Wars (or even Doomsday).
